I look at Katherine and a new level of love fills my heart. She has changed such a great deal in her life. I watch her emotions change rapidly and finally fixate in on bravery. Her eyes shine a brilliant red, and I know that I chose the right person. In my admiration, I miss the conversation that has been going on around me.

"-to start we will need to go and fetch Cassie's body." I snap out of my daze and focus on Alastair. He sees me looking at him with a confused expression, and laughs lightly.

"You just missed that whole conversation didn't you? Would you like me to start over?" My cheeks burn, and I smirk.

"No, I think I can keep up." I pause when a thought suddenly pops into my head. "How will we ever get Cassie's body out of there without Lissa immediately noticing? She has been watching her like a hawk after she put that sleeping spell on her." Alastair frowns.

"Hm, I had not considered that. But I might have a little something of a trick. It would involve your daughter that is sleeping in the room next to Cassie." I knit my brows in confusion?

"Mara? What could Mara possibly do? She is no where as near as powerful as Lissa." He nods.

"Yes, I am aware of that fact. But her powers over sleep and dreams are much greater than she lets on. If she could conjure a dream powerful enough, she would be able to trap Lissa there for a long enough period of time for us to safely get Cassie out of there?" I shake my head.

"I don't exactly want to bring more people into this. I'm hesitant to even do anything just at the thought of something hurting Freya." Alastair gives me a sad smile.

"You don't give your daughter enough credit. She is a strong force, and with you by her side, she will be even stronger. I think you forget sometimes that you do have your own powers." I nod when he says this. I forget about my powers frequently. I don't really have a lot of reasons to use them. "If you are both on board, I will go fetch her for you, and Katherine can ask you the question she's had on the tip of her tongue for the past five minutes." She chuckles when I suddenly look over at Katherine and see her mouth snap shut. Katherine and I both nod and Alastair dips his head. "As you wish. I have to speak with my assistant before I go fetch her, so I may be a while." He turns and walks over to the door, unlatching the padlock and quietly stepping back into the hall. He opens the door back up a crack and pokes his head inside. "I have to lock this door at all times, please do not open it for anyone. If they do not have a key they are not allowed inside." We nod and he closes the door. I turn to Katherine and access the worry on her face.

"My dear child, what's wrong?" I grab her hand and squeeze it tight. She bites her lip and her eyes dim from the brilliant red.

"Dad I'm scared. I know I want to help, but I've never heard of two immortals sharing a body. What if something goes wrong? I don't want to lose mother forever. I could never do that to you. I'm just so nervous." She lays her head on my shoulder. I wrap my arm around her and pull her close.

"My little Kathy. You never cease to surprise me." Her nose wrinkles when I call her Kathy.

"Dad you know I hate when you call me Kathy. If you must call me a nickname, please make it Kaya. I like that one so much better." I smile and nod. I did call her Kaya for a very long time.

"Okay my little Kaya." She smiles softly and snuggles into my shoulder. "You are the "Bringer of Death"! Your first Husband was Death, one of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse!" Side note, it didn't work out. "You are a goddess my child. You will do great no matter what happens. And I will always love you." I hear a soft sniffle come from Katherine.

"I love you Daddy." She turns her body and wraps her arms around my waist. She sniffles into my shirt. A small laugh comes out of her mouth. "Daddy, I know it's really silly, but I miss when I was young and I was never a part of this." I rub her back. She is so young, but her mind is so beautiful. She has the softest soul.
