After the water balloon fight and the westling, we were all full of colorful goop. I was by far the one who had the most food coloring on me. We were tubing again, but this time was different. On the tube ment for one person, we were trying to have two people on- one person per handle. It was really something. Danny and Ash went first. After them Pete and Ryan went. They didn't last very long. When they were back we all took a short break before anyone went again.
"I want to go," I say breaking up everyone's conversations.
"With who?" Patrick asks.
"I don't care, but I want to try it," I state
"I'll go," Parker pipes up.
"Alright, but I don't want you two bickering," Patrick informs.
"Or making out." Ryan smirks at me.
"How would you even make out on a tube?" I ask out of curiosity.
"One person on bottom and other on top holding onto the handles," Ash says casually. We all turn our heads and look at him.
"You asked, I answered," he shrugs his shoulders.
"Just give me the life jacket," I say. He throws the life jacket at me and I shrug it on as quickly as I can. I didn't wait for Parker. I went to the back of the boat and I climbed on waiting for him. Then he came. The tube shook when he got on, but when he was laying down next to me it stopped moving.
"You guys ready?" Patrick calls.
"Yes!" Parker hollars back. I listen as the engine roars to life. We start to move forward along with the boat. I hold on with a loose grip, but when he hit the first wave one of my hands came free. I felt another hand reach for it. I looked over and it was Parker. I didn't say anything.
I regained my grip and focused on nothing but my hands. I didn't want to fall off. Not now. I pushed myslf up, so I was closer to the front or the tube rather than the back. I looked over and saw an amused Parker who had a sly smile on his face.
"What?" I ask loudly.
"Nothing," he said.
"Liar," I retort.
"Nuh-uh," he argued like a litle kid. I scooted over and bumped his shoulder making him lose his grip. He scowled and I stuck my tongue out at him. Then he pushed me and I actually rolled to the side. Next thing I know, I'm back in the cold water. As I break surface I gasp for air. Then I see Parker swimming towards me.
"Parker Steven Brookes what the hell?" I scream at him. He was right in front of me now. I did everyting in my will power not to swim forward and kiss him. I mean he was right there. I could do it if I wanted to, but since the boys were coming back with the boat, I wouldn't want to. Not with all of them watching like hawks.
"Oh come on, you can't tell me that isn't funny," he says laughing.
"I can't swim!" I shriek.
"Wait, are you serious?" he became all serious all of a sudden.
"If I didn't have this life jacket on, I would be a lot more panicked," I say trying not to smile.
"Jenny, I'm so sorry," He apologizes. I couldn't hold it in anymore. I burst out laughing. I laughed at how confused he was. "Jenny you little b-" I cut him off.
"Beautiful amazing girl you!" I finish for him with a big grin on my face.
"No that's the exact opposite of what I was going to say," he growls.
"Oh come on. You can't be mad at me. You pushed me off the tube for crying out loud," I tell him. He doesn't talk. He only stares at me. "What?" I turn around to see
what he was looking at. "Is there something behind me?"
"No. It was nothing. Don't worry about it," he denies.
"That is a lie and you and I both know that," I say. "You can tell me."
"Well it's just I don't see you laugh often." He looked down.
"Don't feel bad about that," I smile. "I mean it's true. I won't deny it."
"Oh okay." Parker slowly nods his head. Talk about an awkward moment, I mean seriously.
