"What did you discuss with that doctor?" I ask Parker once he was by my side once again.
"He told me to watch you," he says.
"Why would he tell you that?" I ask confused.
"Jenny the doctor told me that the way she passed out wasn't normal," Parker says.
"What do you mean it wasn't normal?" I ask in a furious whisper. "Passing out is passing out."
"I don't know, but that's all he said," he looks down.
"They have to know." Tears were welling up in my eyes. "Parker, doctors are supposed to fix people. They aren't fixing her. They need to be fixing her. Why aren't they fixing her?" Tears stained my cheeks now. I looked down only to see that my hands were shaking.
"Jenny look at me," Parker commands. I don't look at him at first. "Jenny look at me," he repeats. I still don't look at him. "Jenny," he repeats with more force. I finally look up at him. He steps closer to me.
"This isn't fair," I whisper. "None of this is fair. I can't lose my mom. She is the only family I have left." He steps even closer and embraces me. I lean my head on his chest and hug him back. We stayed like that for a while, him comforting me. He let go of me and held me out in front of him.
"Better?" he asks. I nod my head and let go of him.
"Are you leaving for your soccer game?" I ask.
"Do you want me to?" he asks.
"I don't want to be the one who keeps you from doing something you love." I wipe my eyes and step away from him.
"Jenny if you want me to stay, I'll stay. And if you want me to go, I'll go. Just tell me," he says.
"Go to your game," I decide.
"You want to come?" He raises his eyebrow at me.
"If it will get my mind off of this, then yeah, I'll go," I say.
"Then we need to hurry up because we both ran here," he lets go of me and walks to the elevator.
"Wait you ran after me?" I ask shocked.
"I could have drove, but it was just quick thinking." He shrugs his shoulders and then smiles. We step onto the elevator together and ride in silence. I felt happy that someone was here to help me through this unexpected mess. But at the same time I'm so angry and confused. Why did this have to happen to her? How long is she going to be here? What happened? Will she be different when she wakes up? Will she remember our arguement? Will she remember me?
