"Come on dude, it's not that hard !" Aaron exclaims as he laughs, letting the only olive left roll in the palm of his hand.
Corey shoots the tall boy a glare, narrowing his eyes at him before his face breaks into a smile. He can't stay serious for more than ten seconds.
"Ready ?" Aaron speaks again, placing the olive between his index and his thumb and looking at Corey with his eyebrows raised.
The boy with the man bun replies with a single nod, tilting his head backward and opening his mouth. This time, the olive lands in his mouth perfectly and the group of friends erupts in cheers, clapping in their hands excitedly as if Corey had just won the most important competition ever. Their excitement drags the attention of the other clients in the restaurant but they couldn't care less. Corey exchange a few high-fives with his friends before they start eating again, their laughter dying down.
"Don't you guys miss filming ?" Jake asks Sam and Colby carefully after a few minutes of silence.
He's contemplated bringing up Youtube for a while now but he was always scared to do it, he doesn't even know why. He probably didn't want to make the boys uncomfortable.
Sam glances to his right, where Colby's sat and the blonde realizes how close they actually are from each other. Their legs are almost touching and their elbows keep bumping into each other every now and then when they eat but none of them bothers to move. They don't want to anyway. Sam then remembers Jake's question and looks back at the boy, smiling nervously when he notices everybody's staring at him.
"Yeah." He answers truthfully, there's no point in lying. "At least I do."
Colby lets out a chuckle, putting his fork down on his plate. "I do too honestly."
Every head shoots towards him, shocked to see him take part in the conversation, before a smile replaces the surprise on their faces.
Realizing that he can't back out now, Colby lets out a small sigh before managing a smile and starting to talk.
"I guess I just miss everything that goes with filming. The trips, the laughs, the skits, just not caring about anything. Our videos are fun and they show the great bond we all share as roommates but mostly as friends. It used to feel like nothing mattered. I mean, look at us : We live in a mansion, there are six of us, we are like a family whose members all have the same job, how amazingly great is that ?"
Gazing fondly at his best friend, Sam lets a small grin grow on his face and he's too focused on Colby's face to notice the roommates have shifted their attention to him, waiting for the blonde to add something.
Colby chuckles quietly, snapping Sam out of his trance and instantly the slightly older boy turns as red as a tomato, looking around at his friends.
"Hm, y-yeah, like he said." He stutters out, earning a laugh from the rest of the group.
"Is Colby gonna be the talkative one today ?" Corey teases, winking at Sam who blushes a deeper red, if it even is possible.
A real, genuine laugh escapes Colby's lips at the sight of Sam's cheeks and the blonde's face lit up when the beautiful sound reaches his ears. He could hear it over and over again and never get tired of it.
Colby shakes his head as an answer, he'd rather listen to Sam talk than speak himself. He's always thought Sam was better with words than him, plus Sam is such a wise, deep person and could make anything he says sound smart. Colby doesn't know if it's because Sam has a way with words or because he's literally hanging on the boy's every word whenever he talks.
Jake scoffs, getting everyone's attention. "Sam can't keep quiet. It'd kill him to not talk."
"That is very true." Sam agrees, admitting that he is indeed unable to keep his mouth shut, no matter how hard he tries. Of course he has his moments but when he's with friends, he just can't control himself. The blonde then turns his head towards Colby and grins at him. "But I'd be pleased to shut up if it's to let Colby talk."
Blood rushes to Colby's face, causing a pretty pink to tint his cheeks as his eyes dive into Sam's and for a moment, they forget about the rest of the world, unaware that their friends are watching them knowingly. If it wasn't for the waitress stopping at their table to gather their empty plates, they probably would've kissed because they're so lost in their own little world.
Colby giggles as he looks up at the friendly lady asking if he's done eating. He responds with a nod, adding that it was really good before she thanks him and grabs his plate.
"So, don't you guys have something to tell us ?" Aaron breaks the silence once the waitress is gone, raising an eyebrow at the duo sitting on his right.
Both boys give the tall boy a confused eyes, silently asking him what he means. Aaron's about to reply but Corey beats him to it, blurting out words that leave Sam and Colby speechless.
"Jake was driving and saw y'all kiss and he told the whole house."
"Corey !" Jake, Aaron and Devyn exclaim in unison, shooting the boy a death glare.
Corey raises his hands in the air as his eyes widen. "Sorry ! I couldn't keep it to myself anymore."
Devyn rolls her eyes at her boyfriend while Jake groans, the incident that was supposed to be secret now out in the open. Jake didn't think bringing it up with Sam and Colby was a good idea, he wasn't going to push them to say something they didn't want. But apparently, Corey is actually the one who can't keep quiet.
Still silent, Sam and Colby exchange nervous looks, not knowing what they should say. They thought they could keep that kiss - and the few that happened after - private, they don't want to put a name on their relationship.
Unfortunately, when they look back at their roommates, they're already staring back at the pair expectantly.
