You don't really have to listen to the song whilst reading, it's just a beautiful song that I absolutely LOVE and I just thought I'd share (:
Edit : idk if it shows the same on others' screen but it says that there is more than one video (have no idea why). There isn't :')

Sam doesn't get much sleep that night.

He wonders if it's because his mind is too loud, or because the only sounds louder than his thoughts are the weak sobs he can hear coming from the room across from his own.

The blonde has debated whether or not to sneak in there and hold his best friend close until he has no tears left to cry, but his heart has stopped him many times from leaving his bed.

Colby's said so himself.

He doesn't love Sam.

Sam assumed that for the brunette, all that he is, is a best friend. The one who's stuck with him since freshman year, nothing more. Little does he know, he's part of the reason behind his other half's cries. Colby's had one too many drink and obviously his mind is clouded by the effect of the substance running through his blood, although he's most likely sobered up after all those hours.

Sam's tried convincing himself not to let his feelings overpower his logic but apparently he's drunk a bit too much too, because he ends up giving in. Sighing through his nose, he throws his feet over the edge of his bed and stands up, nervously running a hand through his messy hair, a result of all the times he's tossed and turned in his bed in hopes to fall asleep. He opens his door as quietly as possible, everything in this house is so creaky.

Just like he thought, when Sam pushes Colby's bedroom door open, a fluff of brown hair shoots up from the pillow, revealing Colby's red and puffy face. Fear flashes across his features as he stares at the blonde he calls his best friend.

"Sam ?"

Said boy takes a timid step forward, staring intensely at Colby.

"Colby, what's wrong ?"

"What are you doing awake ?"

Sam wants to roll his eyes at the brunette's whack attempt to dodge the question, but he answers anyway with a shrug of his shoulders.

"Couldn't sleep."

He enters the room completely and closes the door behind him, watching as Colby plops back down on his pillow and his hands fly to his face to wipe his cheeks.

"I had a nightmare."

Lies.

So many lies have left Colby's mouth. He's sick, not hungry, too tired, anything to get his roommates off his back. But Sam ? Sam is not a fool and he's wondering if Colby sometimes forgets that they've known each other for over 7 years.

Without a word, the blonde crawls into the other's bed and pulls him close, trying his best to ignore how fragile the boy feels in his arms. Instead he focuses on running one of his hands through the brunette's curls - Sam loves it the best when his friend leaves his hair natural - while the other one is drawing circles on Colby's bare back.

They lay in silence, none of them dares to open their mouth. The thoughts that go through one's mind are dark, scaring him of his own head. The other is oblivious to the pain, to the chaos going on in the brunette's mind, to how he's unable to get the voices out of his head.

Colby lets out a soft sigh, holding his best friend as close to him as possible while burrying his head in the crook of the other's neck. He can't deny that his demons have quieted down since the blonde had popped his head into the room. They're still present, but Sam's soft touch manages to slowly appease them, reducing them to a few harsh words here and there.

And before he knows it, he drifts into a deep sleep, the kind of sleep he hasn't gotten in weeks.
