It's Friday which means Colby's uploading a video, but it's also April 20th which means David's finally uploading his 420th vlog. In other words, today's a good day 🙌🏻

Lying to Sam is what Colby hates to do the most. The blonde is his best friend after all.
So why does he feel like he can't talk to him ?
Oh yeah, he's in love with the guy. Colby can't talk to Sam about his problems since Sam is the problem. Well, along with his insomnia, his missing appetite and his lack of motivation to do anything. He tried, god did he try so hard to find a reason to get out of his bed in the morning. The roommates never notice how sunken his eyes look or how his 'yes's always sound hesitant, devoid of any emotions. The only reason he still agrees to drag himself out of his room and hang out with his friends is because he doesn't want them to worry. They might be foolish but they're not dumb, they'll start asking questions if the brunette doesn't show up anywhere for a few days. So he forces himself to go out with Brennen and Jake, to strike up casual conversations with Aaron and to joke with Corey. He plays Fortnite with all of them and pretends he's having fun when in reality, he'd rather be laying in bed, music blasting in his ears to help him tune everything out. Even filming videos, which he used to love, has become a chore.
Although it kills him to admit, Colby doesn't even have to fake happiness because nobody seems to care.
Nobody but Sam.
Colby sighs, covering his face with his hands. He just wants to open up to his best friend but he can't. The blonde boy deserves nothing but happiness, Colby couldn't allow himself to take that away from Sam.
I'm fine.
That's what he keeps telling himself. Those two words leave his mouth over and over again, a blatant lie that he hopes will become true if he says it enough. And maybe if he manages to convince himself of that, Sam would believe it too.
Yeah right.
With his back against Colby's door, Sam listens as the brunette cries himself to sleep yet again. Sam doesn't know why he keeps doing that, hearing the sobs of the boy he loves is like torture to him, yet he can't help but sit in the hallway silently. Perhaps does he think hearing the other's pain will help understand what is actually going on. The thing is, he never will. But he still tries. He wishes he could walk in Colby's shoes just for a day so that he wouldn't be so clueless as to what his best friend feels.
When Colby's whimpers quiet down, Sam lets out a silent sigh of relief. Both boys let the silence engulf them, invasive thoughts causing tears to run down their face. The blonde pulls the sleeves of his sweatshirt over his hands, the Take Chances purple hoodie he's shamelessly borrowed from Colby, just so that he can be surrounded by the broken boy's scent, is too big for him but he loves it. Colby, shirtless, shaking, pulls the covers over his head, wishing he could just disappear under them.
Sadly he's still there when a hand slowly lifts up the blanket but Colby can't help feeling relieved at the sight of the familiar face. Once again Sam's let his feelings get the best of him and entered the room, he's too tired to even think clearly. For some reason he can still hear his best friend's cries echo in his head even though the brunette's stopped crying, and it's starting to drive him insane.
Colby smiles faintly at the boy, stretching his arms out for him to crawl into, which Sam obliges within a heartbeat.
The pair hasn't talked since the day Sam confronted Colby, or not much at least. None of them can put their thoughts into words, each for different reasons. They know that communication is key yet can't bring themselves to speak whenever they're near each other. All they've done in the past days is bow down their head and act as if they hadn't seen the other standing by.
Colby doesn't point out the fact that Sam is wearing his hoodie, he wouldn't say it out loud but the sight actually causes his heart to flutter slightly. Snaking his arms around the male's waist, Sam rests his head on his friend's shoulder as a barely audible hum escapes his lips. He missed the warmth of Colby's body, the wooden floor he's spent the last hour on was too cold, too... well, it just wasn't Colby.
Neither of them can believe they're in the same position as they were a few days ago, only the roles are switched. Katrina's face pops up in both boys' mind but they push it away, Sam ignores the guilt poking at his heart at the thought of his girlfriend while Colby just pulls the blonde closer to forget about the brown-haired girl. Sam has calmed the storm in the brunette's mind, it hasn't passed yet but it's not as bad as it was before the two reunited.
Silence fills the room, interrupted by sniffles or soft coughs every now and then. They're aware that the other's been crying but they don't bring it up, instead they just hold each other close and wait. Wait for what ? Sleep or the sunrise, whichever comes first. For Sam, it's sleep. For Colby, it feels like an eternity before the sunshine finally lights up his room and suddenly fatigue takes over his body. His grip on Sam tightens and he snuggles his nose in the boy's hair, enjoying the familiar scent as he falls asleep.
