Sam gulps, at a loss for words for once. The group's been sitting in silence for a few moments now and it's starting to grow uncomfortable. Luckily for them it doesn't last much longer.

"We... We don't really know what to tell you guys." Colby admits, his voice barely audible.

Glancing at the brown-haired boy, Sam nods, agreeing with him. What are they supposed to tell their roommates if there's nothing to say ? They're not official, and honestly, they don't want to be. They love each other to death, something they've come to the realization of recently, but they don't want labels. They understand the some people need those labels, but Sam and Colby don't.

"How about the truth ?" Corey teases but his smirk fades when it doesn't make Sam and Colby laugh, not even smile. "Hey, it's fine if you don't wanna talk about it, okay ? We don't want to push you guys."

Sam shakes his head, deciding to speak for him and Colby. His hand discreetly reaches down to hold the brunette's hand under the table as he talks.

"No, it's just that we don't have anything to say. You guys know about the kiss and you obviously all know what that means. However, we haven't really discussed it and in all honesty, we don't want to."

Sam's words are enough to make his friends confused and they all stared at him as if he was crazy.

"Wait, what ?" Aaron asks, before a small laugh escapes his lips.

Colby bites down on his bottom lip, which doesn't fail to catch Sam's attention but the blonde quickly looks back at the rest of the group.

"Well, I..." He starts before lowering his head, a deep blush on his cheeks at the thought of his next words. "We love each other and that's all that needs to be said."

For moment they stay silent while the roommates process what Sam just said, until the silence's broken by Jake.

"So you guys are -"

"They're whatever they want to be." Devyn cuts him off in a soft tone, hoping she doesn't come off as rude although that's obviously not seen as friendly gesture. But she can see how flustered both Sam and Colby are about the situation, and she doesn't want to force them to say something they don't want to. "We'll take what they give us, right guys ?" She asks, her question aimed at Aaron, Corey and Jake who all sigh before nodding their head. That causes a smile to grow on her face and she then looks over at the duo to show she's talking directly to them. "We just want you to be happy. Don't stress yourselves out, we'll always love and support you guys. Now, can we get out of here ? I want a McFlurry."

They all laugh and agree, getting up and exiting the restaurant as they instantly strike up conversations.

"Hey, Colby ?"

The brunette glances over his shoulder at the sound of Corey's voice. "Yeah ?"

"Can I talk to you ?"

Colby frowns but nods, letting go of Sam's hand who gives him a puzzled look, to which Colby replies with a smile before he slows down until he's walking next to Corey. Corey waits until Sam and Devyn are a few feet ahead of them, unable to hear the two boys' conversation, before he speaks.

"Are you sure about what you're doing ?"

At a loss for words, Colby stares at Corey, his eyebrows furrowed.

"With Sam ?" Corey adds in a quieter voice.

Up until that point Colby didn't know Corey still had doubt about Sam's feelings for him, especially with the way Corey acts around the duo. Corey always seemed to want them to date, so why is he suddenly reluctant ?

"Of course." Colby replies confidently, slipping his hands in the pockets of his pants. "Why do you ask ?"

Corey shrugs his shoulders, lowering his head to look at his feet. "Just wanted to make sure. Like Dev said, all that matters is y'all's happiness."

But Colby isn't having it and doubts start filling his mind. Corey wouldn't ask that question "just" to make sure.

"Again, why do you ask ?" Colby asks is a soft voice.

The older male looks at him before sighing. "You can barely take care of yourself at the moment. Are you sure you want to be in a relationship ?"

Colby wants to be hurt by his friend's words, but he knows that he's right and that Corey doesn't mean to offend him.

Then it seems to click in Corey's mind. "Wait, is that why you guys don't want to label it ? Because as soon as it's official, it fees like more of a responsibility than it currently is ?"

A smile grows on Colby's face and he slowly nods his head, realizing that that's the reason why they refuse to make it official.

Corey, obviously proud of his simple realization, grins at his friend, who's now staring dreamingly at his boyfriend walking a few feet before them.

"I'm sorry." Corey murmurs after a moment of silence.

Furrowing his eyebrows, Colby gives him a puzzled look, to which the boy quickly replies :

"For making you believe Sam didn't love you the way you love him. I guess I was wrong."

"It's fine." Colby quickly reassures him, shaking his head slightly. "You meant well, I know it."

Out of nowhere Colby feels arms wrap around him and once he realizes it's Corey, he wastes no time to hug him back, not knowing why they're hugging but still enjoying it.

When they pull away and finally walk into McDonnald's, Colby opens his mouth to ask what that hug was for but Corey cuts him off by saying :

"Y'all are cute by the way."

And they join the rest of the group, the smile never leaving Colby's face.
