When I woke up the dressing room was empty. I pushed myself into a sitting position to take in the room. When I managed to gather my baring somewhat and clear some of the sleep haze from my mind, I looked around for my phone.Checking my messages I saw the Demi had texted me.
Demi - 6:30 pm - If you wake up before we get back we're out watching the show. Call me when you wake up and I'll come to get you.
So I did, and she did.
To say the walk over to the stage was filled with anxiety would be an understatement. I mean my hands were sweating and my knees were shaking, even while walking. I was even more of a mess than normal.
Max was waiting for us just outside the dressing room door and he walked with us back out to the stage. As soon as we walked through the door into the back and side stage area of the arena, I could see all the people sitting out there, cheering and dancing. Just having the best time. It was amazing.
I could hear the music but I didn't know who was playing. I only knew three of the artists playing tonight.
Demi stopped as we got to where the others were standing. I could see Camila standing a little to our left with her family and some of her crew, I could also see a few other people scattered around, famous faces I knew, but didn't really know. Not like I knew Camila or Lauren. I guess my only saving grace at this point is that I haven't even seen Lauren to make a fool out of myself in front of her.
With that thought though, I could help but constantly be looking around to make sure that she wasn't coming over, or that I wasn't going to get another surprise visit from Camila. And who knows, maybe someone else famous could come over to see Demi.
To say I was getting increasingly agitated would be an understatement. Demi noticed as well and to help calm me down, she pulled me to her side and wrapped her arm around my waist.
From then on I tried to pay attention to the person on stage, and it worked for the most part. I was lucky they were only on for two more songs though because I was reaching my breaking point.
We all headed back to Demi's dressing room for the ten-minute break between acts. Everyone when their separate ways once back there. Demi, however, pulled me onto the couch beside her and curled up in the corner. I rested my head on her shoulder.
"You were struggling out there weren't you?" Demi questioned after a few minutes of quiet. I just nodded.
"There were so many people around, and I couldn't help but fe-e-el l-like someone would try to talk to me..." I started after another minute of silence.
"You were worried you wouldn't be able to speak?" I just nodded again, confirming Demi's suspicion. Do you want to wait in here until Lauren is on and then again Camila? I'll come to get you for their sets so you don't have to be surrounded by so many people?" I just kept my eyes down, not wanting to look up at Demi.
I didn't want Demi to have to do that for me, I didn't want to be an inconvenience like that, but I don't think I can stay out there with the girls. Not in the state I am in now, I'm kinda worried I'll lash out and hurt someone if my irritation and frustration meet a breaking point. And that would look so bad for so many people.
I didn't want to, but I reluctantly nodded my head, I'm to agitated to be out there and everyone can see it.
"Demi, H, we're gonna go back out, we'll see you out there?" Madison asked.
"Yeah of course. Kelsey, can you go with them?" Demi got her assistant to take Madison and Brinley back out, just in case the security wanted to be difficult.
