"Tahlia! Kira! Girls?" I burst through the front door and yelled out for the two oldest girls who should've been at the house. I quickly heard a bunch of girls running down the stairs. Holly, Zia, Megan, Alison, Rubi, and Kira came down the stairs pretty quickly and all rushed over to me and engulfed me in a group hug. I was really close to all these girls so to see them so shaken and with tears in their eyes; it was like a knife to the heart. Tahlia rounded the corner not long after. She was stood a bit back with her arms crossed over her chest and her head down. I could see the sadness she was fighting and the tears she was trying to hold back. She is a really shy and reserved person; she has let no one in since being here. So to see her fighting back so much sadness was so shocking.I was released from the six younger girls that had wrapped themselves around me and opened my arms for Tahlia to come over. She didn't even try and resist. I was immediately held so tight by the younger girl.
She buried her face in my shoulder and let everything out. Tahlia was sobbing, her whole body was shaking, and she had a death grip in the back of my shirt. Not that I cared. Whatever happened, it must have been pretty terrible for her to break down like this.
After Tahlia had calmed down a bit, I grabbed her hand and pulled her into the media room. The seven of us piled onto the sofa. I pulled Holly on to my lap as she was the youngest at only 10. "Tell me what happened?" I questioned softly after everyone was settled.
"I was sitting on my bed when Aggie came rushing into our room," Kira started. I nodded softly to encourage her to continue. "She ahh... she just finished her run, I wasn't paying that much attention, I was on my phone." A soft sniffle brought my eyes back to Kira. I placed my hand on her hands that she had folded on her legs. She looked up at me shocked but that gesture obviously gave her the strength to keep telling me what she had seen. "I looked up when I heard a thump. Aggie was... she was laying on the, on the floor." A few more tears escaped her eyes as she recalled what she had seen. "I rushed over to her, she was shaking so much but she wasn't breathing. I didn't know what to do. I just screamed," Kira cried.
"That's when I ran to them. I've done a first aid course so I'm obligated to perform CPR, so I did when she stopped seizing. The rest of the girls came running pretty quickly after as well as Elise. She called the ambulance and they picked her up not long after. She still hadn't started breathing when they left." Tahlia surprised me by continuing the story for me with a surprisingly calm voice. "Elise called Jordan to meet her at the hospital and she went with Aggie. We haven't heard anything." She finished.
I was speechless. Aggie was like my sister, at least I loved her like one, and after hearing all this, I had no idea how she was doing. I pulled Tahlia and Kira into my sides as they were sitting on either side of me. The rest of the girls cuddled up to each other and we just stayed there on the couch until we got a call.
...
It was hours later when we got a call from Elise. As soon as my phone rang I lunged at it, answering it straight away.
H - Is she okay? Do they know what happened? Please tell me shes alive
E - She's stable. She hasn't regained consciousness though. The doctors have been running heaps of tests and they think she had a seizure? But they can't find out why. They've stopped testing for know as they need her to wake up for some more conclusive answers.
She's stable. I felt like I had just taken my first breath in the hours it had been since Elise told me Aggie was at the hospital.
E - Tell the girls she's stable, but don't tell them too much? I don't want to worry them. And tell Tahlia that the paramedics said that the CPR she started saved her life. I think she needs to hear it.
