The first thing I saw upon waking up was a picture of Jennifer Lawrence, which was hanging on my wall. "Well hello there,it looks like we meet again," I said, stupidly, smiling at it like an idiot.

Having woken up, I yawned, and I stretched my arms, and I sat up. As I did, I felt the room spin for a moment, but then I realized it was just me and not the room that was spinning. It felt like I had gotten drunk, but seeing as how I was only seventeen, I found that unlikely. Then again, there were others my age,who also ended up getting drunk all the time, so maybe I had gotten drunk?

Who knows, I certainly didn't. Everything from last night was still fuzzy. The only way to find out was to ask my parents. So, I got up out of bed, nearly falling over as I did.

"Whoa," I said, as I put my hand on my head. I could feel it pounding like mad.

Before going downstairs, I decided to take a nice hot shower, hoping it would it would take the pounding away. So, I walked into my bathroom and I hopped into the shower and I let the hot running water pour all over my body. As I did, bits of memories from last night, were returning to me. And I realized that I hadn't gotten drunk at all and instead had been bitten by a vampire.

I felt around my neck to see where I had been bitten. And apparently the vampire had bitten me in an area that was near my shoulder, in a location that would've been hidden by my shirt if I was wearing one.

"Dammit!" I yelled, punching the wall of the shower as I did. "Just my luck!"

I wondered if this meant that I was going to turn into a full-blooded vampire.Though, if I was going to, I figured the change would've already happened by now,but at the moment I couldn't tell. So, I turned off the shower and got out and I looked in the mirror and opened my mouth and much to my surprise, there were in fact no vampire fangs.

I sighed with relief.

Now that I had confirmed that I wasn't a vampire, I wasn't as worried as I was. Of course, that didn't mean that I wasn't still going to turn into a vampire, it just meant that the change hadn't happened yet. Though, it could also mean that it wasn't going to happen. Although, I had no way of knowing for sure. I could always ask my dad, but I didn't know what his response would be. After all, my dad hated vampires and I didn't want him to think that I was one and incur his wrath.

Then again, my dad was a rational being, and maybe he'd be madder at that fact that I had been bitten, then at the fact that I might turn into a vampire. Even if that was the case, I thought it best not to tell him, or anyone else. After all, I was too scared to risk telling them, as I had no idea what would happen.

Anyways,I decided to get ready for the day, so I put some product into my black hair so that I had its messy, yet stylish look and then I finished the rest of my mourning routine and I headed down the stairs and into the kitchen where I saw my family sitting at the table.

As usual, my dad was reading the newspaper, while my mom was sipping some coffee. As for my sister, she was on her tablet playing with her virtual pet.

"Hey guys," I said, with a wave.

"Eli!"My mother cried, as she looked at me. My mother put down her coffee and rushed over to me to give me a hug. "Are you all right?"

I hugged her back. "I'm fine mom, I'm fine."

My dad chuckled. "That's the spirit! I knew a punch from a vampire wouldn't keep my son down!"

My mother released me from her grip and I chuckled nervously, scratching the back of my head. as i did."For sure," I replied.

"Why don't you come sit down while I cook up a nice hot breakfast for you."
