Virgil's POV

We were in the middle of the school year, and it was going okay, I guess. I hadn't really made any new friends, just me and Roman, all though he had some other friends other than me. Which is all fine and dandy, except the jealousy, the horrible horrible jealousy that I always face when he hangs out with other people.

~~~~~
"Hey Roman! What's up?" Some jock high fived Roman while we were walking down the school halls.
"Hi Jeremy! Everything's good, how 'bout you?" I tightened my grip on Roman's hand, and started to slowly back up behind him, maybe Jeremy won't notice because Im so small.
"Im fine...Is he?" He pointed a finger at me with a concerned look on his face.
"Virgil? Are you okay?" I nodded, and hoped that would be the end of this conversation, but I was wrong, again.
"Then, why are you hiding behind me, and squeezing my hand like you're terrified? Are you positive you are okay?" He asked me, his tone of voice becoming softer as he spoke to me.
"Im fine Princey." I reassured him, but he didn't look like he fully believed me.
"Virgil, just tell me if something is wrong, okay?" I nodded again. Roman turned back to Jeremy and plastered a smile on to his face.
"He is fine. So, I'll talk to you later?" Jeremy looked away from me, and back to Roman, his smile also returning.
"Of course, see you later." And then he walked away. I walked in front of Roman, no longer hiding, and slightly loosened my grip on his hand.
"Are you sure you are alright?" He took my other hand in his and started swinging our arms like he did when we were little. I giggled, being a little nostalgic.
"I knew that would make you laugh. So, what's wrong?" He asked me. I looked up at him.
"Just social anxiety. Nothing to worry about." I smiled at him. And then he placed a kiss on my forehead.
"Stop, you're embarrassing me." I playfully pouted, but that only caused him to smirk even wider.
"Am I now?" He did it again, and again, and then one more time.
"Roman? Whatcha doing?" Someone else walked up to us, it was someone who has always been in our schools, good ol' Lily.
"Im embarrassing Virgil." He explained, that smirk never leaving his face. I stared at him, taking in his features, not that I don't know what everyone of his features were, but I loved admiring them.
"Well, that's always fun. Isn't it, Virgil?" Lily asked me, I snapped out of my thoughts, and then looked at Lily. I have a feeling she may or may not have caught onto my crush.
"Uhh...I d-don't know how to an-answer that." I hated it when I stuttered, but I did whenever I got nervous.
"No need to stutter Virgil, you know me well enough. Don't be nervous." She told me. But I couldn't help but be nervous, she was someone other than Roman, or our parents.
"S-sorry." I dropped one of Roman's hands, and moved back to his side. Being close enough so our sides were touching.
"Dont apologize. Roman, how does one get Virgil to open up?" Lily asked him, which only caused him to laugh, as did I.
"What's so funny?" She asked with a confused look on her face, sometimes people didn't understand our friendship, which is perfectly fine with me.
"You really want to know?" I asked her, and she nodded.
