"That fucker!" Hunter says as he starts walking towards him. You grab his arm pulling him back.
"Hunter," you say. "Calm down."
"Oh, I'll be calm when I knock him the fuck out." He says.
You groan. "Doing that isn't going to solve the problem and we're in public, so just calm down."
"Fine! I'll be calm, but the minute he says something, I won't hesitate to hit him." He says.
You roll your eyes a bit before walking towards where Simon was sitting. "I assume you're the one behind the flowers?"
"You came." He says looking at you with a wide-eyed confused expression. "With Hunter.."
"I did and yes, you remember my brother." You say.
"I do, yes." He says.
"Good," Hunter says before sitting in one of the free chairs at the table.
"Anyway, what do you want?" You say looking over at Simon.
"I wanted to talk to you." He says.
"Okay, We're here, so talk." You say.
"Look, I know that I've been a huge ass to you." He starts off.
"Understatement, but continue," Hunter says.
"Anyway, I just, I wanted to talk to you about being back in Ella's life." He says.
"You've never been in her life, Simon, so how do you expect to be back in her life." You say.
"I know, I worded that poorly, but I'm serious." He says. "I want to get know her. I've already missed on her life, I don't want to miss anymore."
"Why now?" You ask.
"Because I just want to get to know my daughter, I don't know." He sighs. "After seeing her that time a few weeks ago, I can't get her out of my head."
"Wait, when did you see her?" Hunter asks.
"I ran into Y/N and Ella a few weeks ago. It wasn't like a formal meeting or anything." Simon says.
"So, what you're saying is, is that you want me to just forget everything that you've ever said about me or about her, all the times that you were gone. All the doctor visits and the whole labor process and the last year and half of her life that you've missed and just start bringing her around you?" You scoff.
"For lack of better words, yes." He sighs.
"How do I know that you're not going to try and be in and out of her life?" you ask. "She's in a great place right now and I don't want to possibly have you screw it up because right now you want to be in her life, but then you just up and decide that you don't want to be around her or you get a girlfriend who doesn't want you to have a child, so when you leave again, I'm the one left looking at a sad, heartbroken little girl." You say.
"I know and the only thing I can think of is proving to you that I'm not going anywhere and want to be in her life is by being here, there." He says.
"That's true." You sigh. "but honestly, Simon, I can't give you an answer today. I need to think about this."
"I respect that." He nods. "I'm not sure how long you're in town for.."
"We leave in two days." You say. "The boys have three shows here."
"Oh, well, I'll still be here through that." He says. "In case you want to meet up again or something." He says awkwardly.
