The Next Step - Chapter 37

The next morning, you wake up early to pack up everything to head to the airport. Ella was watching Mickey Mouse on the bed, while drinking her milk, giggling. You smile over at her as you walk back into the bathroom to grab everything, when you notice a full box of tampons in your bag. You look at them confused before grabbing your phone. You look at your calendar and realize that you hadn't had your period this month, meaning you were late. Panic started to rush through you as you tried recalculating everything and still realizing you were late.

A knock on the door, brought you out of your little panic trace. You threw everything in your bag and threw it on the bed before walking over to the door. When you open it, you see Jackson standing there with Harry.

"Morna Y/N!" He yawns walking in with his teddy bear. He walks over to the bed and climbs in next to Ella.

You laugh a bit before looking up at Harry. "Um.. The cars are downstairs." He says. "We should get going soon."

"Uh, yeah, I'm almost packed. I just have to grab a few more things and zip everything up." You say.

Harry nods walking in the room. Ella smiles crawling to the edge of the bed and reaching up for him. Harry smiles picking him up.

"Daddy!" She giggles wrapping her tiny arms around him.

"Hi, baby." he smiles kissing her head. "Did you sleep well?"

"Ya! Mama and I cuwddle!" She smiles.

"I bet that was fun." He smiles. "Are you ready to get on a plane and go flying?"

"Ya!" She giggles.

You zip up the last suitcase and take it off the bed. "I'm done." You say.

Harry nods kissing Ella's head before he puts her down. Harry grabs your bags and you all head down to the cars. You help get the kids settled in their seats before climbing in to yours. Harry sits next to you in the car, but you just stare at the window.

Your mind kept wandering to the fact that you were late. You couldn't be pregnant, well technically you could be since you were sexually active, but you just couldn't be pregnant right now. Ella just turned two not too long ago, you were finally getting in a good place with your career, plus you and Harry were on the verge of breaking up and the last thing you wanted to was to bring a baby into this situation. It was bad enough having Ella in it and you knew that Harry could possibly choose to stay just because of the baby. You wouldn't be able to take a test until the plane landed and even then you might not be able to make a run to the drug store.

While you were on the plane, you and Harry kept your distance and the kids just played with their toys. You weren't sure if you should tell Harry about what you discovered this morning or if you should just wait till after you took the test. If you were on better terms, you would have told him as soon as you realized you hadn't had your period, but right now, you didn't want to add even more reason to what was already going on between the two of you, especially if it turns out that you're not even pregnant.

Once the plane lands, you all head to get your bags before getting into the car. The kids were hungry, so you stopped on the way to the hotel. You were walking into the restaurant, when you notice a drug store nearby. You quickly excuse yourself before heading inside. You grab a random test and pay for it before hiding it in your bag.

You walk back over to the restaurant, finding their table and sitting down.

"Everything okay?" Abby asks.

"Oh, yeah, just uh needed to get something." You say placing your bag on the floor.

Harry looks over at you over the top of his menu. He hated what was going on between the two of you. He hated being away from you, but he couldn't help the way that he felt. He knew that it was wrong, but he still felt that way. He hated seeing you upset especially when he was the reason. He wanted to talk to you about everything, say that he was sorry and that he didn't want this to ruin what you two have, but he was afraid that he already had.
