Baby Daddy Meeting - Part 25

It was the next morning and the day that you would be meeting Simon to talk about Ella. You were on your way to the cafe that you were meeting him in and once you got there, is when your nerves were kicking in. Harry had insisted on coming with you, but you knew that it would better for you to this by yourself. After sitting in your car as long as you could without being late, you take a deep breath, grab your things and head inside.

Simon was already there sitting at a table drinking some coffee. You walk up to the counter and order a muffin and some tea before heading over to Simon's table while you wait.

"Hey," Simon says looking up.

"Hi," you say sitting down.

"Thanks for coming this morning," Simon says.

"You don't have work today?" You ask.

"No, I do, I just have afternoon meetings." He says.

You nod. They soon bring over your order. You take a quite bite of your muffin before looking over at Simon.

"I guess we should get to why we're really here," Simon says.

"Yeah, I guess so." You say.

"So, have you thought about what I asked you?" He asks.

"I have." you nod. "And I think the best thing for Ella would be to start this off slowly. If I were to go to her and introduce you as her father, that would do nothing but confuse her and probably scare her. So, I was thinking that for now, I would introduce you as a friend. You can see her, but only with me or Harry present." You say.

"Okay, I understand this whole starting slowly and me being a friend, but what does Harry have to do with this?" He says.

"Harry is my boyfriend and in my life. I trust him and when I'm not with Ella for some reason, like work or something, she's with him." You say.

"Oh, so you're telling me that he's playing Daddy with my kid?" He asks annoyed.

"He's not playing anything!" You say. "He's been there for Ella more in the last 8 months that we've been together than you have her entire life! And in case you forgot, her birthday is in two weeks, which will make her 2 years old and you're just now wanting to be in her life."

"Damn Y/N, can we please stop living in the past?" He says. "Yes, I wasn't there for her or for you back then, but shouldn't the fact that I want to be there now mean anything?"

"It does mean something! I'm glad that you are finally able to want to be in your daughter's life, but I still don't trust you. Not enough to know that you actually mean that you're going to stick around." You say.

"I told you that I was going to prove to you that I am!" He says.

"I know and this is how you're going to prove to me." You say. "You're going to be able to see her, whenever I say that you can. You will only be able to see her around me or Harry. You will not mention to her about anything about you being her father. I'm not saying that it's going to be this way forever, but for now, this is how it's going to be."

"Please tell me how this is going to happen when you're traveling all around the world with your little boyfriend pretending to be some little family." He says.

"We only have a few more months left of the tour and then I'll be back in LA." You say. "And don't even act like you don't travel for weeks at a time either."

"Now, if you truly want to be in Ella's life then this is all I can give." You say.

Simon sighs. "That's like blackmail." He says.
