Harry had no words to what just happened with you. He had no idea how you were feeling about everything and now he felt like complete shit. He had always heard the first year of marriage was one of the hardest, but he never expected this. It probably didn't help you two had four kids to take care of right at the start either.
He knew he was going to have to make this up to you, but he wasn't sure exactly how he was going to do that. It was late and you were already asleep, so he quietly climbed into the bed next to you, hoping that something would come to him in the morning.
The next day, you woke up when you heard the babies cooing themselves awake. Before you raised up, Harry put his hand on your arm to stop you.
"I've got 'em," he mumbled tiredly before pushing himself off the bed and over to their cribs. "Morning babies," he yawned picking them both up and carrying them into the nursery to change their diapers.
Once he's changed them, he brings them both into the room and sits back on the bed with them. They look over at you and you smile.
"Hi, my babies," you smiled kissing their heads. "Are you hungry?"
You giggled when you see their little mouths go into a smile. You take off your top and Harry hands them over to you and you situate them as you start to feed them. Harry looks down at the babies and runs his hands over their little head before looking up at you.
"Can we talk about last night?" He asked.
"What's there to talk about? You made it perfectly clear that we should only focus on the kids, which yeah we should, but you're also focusing on your career on top of that, so excuse me for feeling like I'm not a priority in your life right now," you mumbled.
"But you are a priority," he sighed. "Why do you think I'm getting back in the studio. That's my job, and what I do to support this family."
"I get that, but it's not like you have a 9 to 5 job, Harry. I know you try to get home at a decent time to help with the kids, but there have been some nights you've been gone until early the next morning," you sighed.
"I know, and I'm sorry," he said. "But you are a priority, Y/N."
"Words and actions are two different things, Harry. You can say I'm a priority all you want, but until you actually show it, then I'll believe it," you said.
Before Harry could respond, Jackson and Ella came running in and jumped on the bed. They had complete bed head and you both laughed.
"Morning!" They giggled. "Morning babies."
You smiled. "Did you two sleep well?"
"Ya! Da bestest!" Ella giggled.
"That's no word!" Jackson giggled.
"Yes, it is," Harry defends pulling them both into his lap.
"No not," Jackson said.
"Well, it is in this family," Harry smirked.
Jackson shook his head and laughed.
"Do you two want to help me cook breakfast this morning?" Harry asked.
"Ya!" They said jumping up. "We love helping!"
"Great, now let's leave Mummy with the babies and go down to the kitchen," he said.
"Kay!" They giggled running ahead of Harry.

Later that day, you were cleaning out some things in the closet, while Harry was playing with the kids in the playroom. You always deep cleaned everything whenever you were upset about something and plus it was a good reason to distract yourself from Harry. You had gotten a box down from the top shelve. You put it on the bed and moved hair out of your face. It was mostly a box filled with random papers and cards that had obviously been thrown in there to get them out of the way but yet still important enough to keep.
As you were looking through them, you saw a piece of pink paper sticking out. You grabbed and gently pulled it out of the box. It was the birthday card you and Ella had made for Harry before you two even got together. You sat down on the bed and smiled as you read it and looked at the little drawings and stickers Ella at put on there.
When you looked back in the box, you noticed there were some other things from when you and Harry were just friends and some when you were together.
"Hey, there you are," Harry said walking into the room. "What's all this?"
You looked up at him and had tears in your eyes.
"Baby, what's wrong?" He asked worriedly.
"You kept all of this?" You sniffled holding out stack out to him.
He looked at you confused before looking through and seeing everything. He blushed and nodded. "Yeah... I did," he coughed.
"But why?" You laughed. "I mean most of this stuff isn't even from when we were dating and it's what a few would call junk."
"It's not junk to me," he blushed even more. "This stuff represents special moments in our life together."
"But we were just friends... like this card Ella made for you, we had only known one another for a few weeks," you said.
"Yeah, but it's special for two reasons," he said. "You and Ella took the time to make it and it was the first thing she ever made and two, the night you gave me that was the same night we kissed for the first time."
You laughed. "We did have our first kiss the night of your birthday, didn't we?"
"Yeah, we did," he smiled. "And this is from one of our many days at the park," he said pulling out a picture of you laughing with Jackson and Ella. "If I remember it correctly, I think that was the first day when we both met the kids. I took it when you weren't looking and I had forgotten I'd taken it until I was looking through my phone a few days later. When I saw it again, my heart did this weird thing and it was then, I realized that my feelings for you were more than I thought."
"You never told me that story before," you said. "Or that you had any of this."
"Well, my plan was to keep all of this and get my sister to help me put it in a scrapbook, especially once we got engaged. I was going to make it your wedding present, but then we decided to get married sooner and you were pregnant with Willow and Wylie," he said.
"We can still make one," you smiled. "Maybe... Maybe we could do it together?"
"You'd want to do that?" He asked.
"Of course, I mean, if you'd want to do it," you said.
He took your hand in his and smiled. "I do want to, and I think you're right this will be something we can do together and maybe seeing all of this stuff and doing something together again, will get us back to where we want to be in our relationship," he whispered.
You squeezed his hand. "I just want us to be happy and in love again. I want to spend time with my husband, I know I probably overreacted, but that's how I was feeling at the time," you said.
"And I should have realized you were feeling this way," he said. "I miss you too and miss being able to just be with you. I guess we're both just trying to get used to the transition of being parents of two toddlers to parents of two toddlers and twin babies,"
You nodded laying your head on his shoulder. He kissed your head and wrapped his arms around you.
"Do you really feel like you're not a priority in my life?" He whispered.
You sighed. "A little," you admitted.
"Fuck, I'm sorry," he sighed. "I never want you to feel like that, baby. You and the kids are my number one priority and you always will be. I'm going to do better about showing that to you."
"I know you will," you smiled. "I love you and I know we're both dealing with a lot, but I know will figure it out and I think this, is the start."
"I love you too," he smiled putting his forehead against yours.
Everything wasn't perfect between you two, but this was a start and that's all that mattered.
