"You can't go Kylie." Michael, my boyfriend insisted watching me pack my bag. "You've got Court on Wednesday."
"It's all been organised and I am going." I was expecting this bullshit.
He glared at me, I glared back.
We'd been together nearly two years, owned a house together, worked together and he was the only person who knew a bit about my past, only some things, there were some things I would never tell.
"This is godamn ridiculous, one call and you go running back there." He started yelling, oh he wanted to yell, well I could yell.
"It's done, I'm going." I shut my suitcase. "So stop, if you don't I'll gladly get in my car and leave now."
"Fine." He said grabbing his jacket."I'm leaving."
I didn't argue or beg him to stay, I just watched him walk out.
Now came the hard part. I picked up the phone and took a deep breath.
"Mom, it's me."
"Kylie?" She sounded surprised.
I hadn't spoken to my mother for a long time, when I left my past behind, I left everything behind.
"Yes mom, it's me."
"Well what in the hell do you want?"
"I'm going to be in town, I'd like to see you." I really wanted to see her, I missed her.
"Oh so now you want to see your mother. I haven't laid eye's on you for years and suddenly you want to see me?" I was expecting this kind of reaction.
"I'm coming for Gabby's funeral mom, I thought we could catch up, but maybe not." I wasn't going to beg, I wasn't that person anymore.
"Poor Gabby, just another person you left behind when you decided none of us were good enough for you anymore, you can come to her funeral, but nobody wants you there Kylie, you abandoned your family and friends and from what I've heard your too good for us now." With that said she hung up.
I closed my eye's. I didn't abandon my family and friends, I saved my life.
