Tess Pov- Moving day had finally come and she had been waiting for this moment for years and it almost didn't feel real to her that the day had finally come. It took her a few weeks to pack up all her stuff it took her longer then she thought it would cause there was a few days she wasn't feeling well and she didn't want to over do it.  When she woke up this morning  she looked around her room and it was weird to see all her stuff packed away in boxes. Her room had always been her safe space it was a place that she spent most of her life and looking at it now it felt strange to her now.

That afternoon her parents started loading her boxes into their truck, since her new home had furniture all she packed were her clothes and stuff like that. Before they got on the road her parents wanted to go out to eat as a family one last time before she left. Tess followed behind them to the restaurant she knew her parents just wanted time with her but she just wanted to get there and get settled.  Dinner ended up being nice  she ordered a salad and a small pasta dish and her parents got some burgers. After an hour or so they were back on the road, it had been years since  they had taken this drive but she still knew how to get there by memory. Her parents truck was in front of her pretty much the whole trip there and she would sing along to the songs that she knew that would pop up on the radio.

The three hour drive flew by and before she knew it she was turning into the apartment complex. The complex was made up of all town home style apartments and the complex was just as nice as she remembered. There was a small pool that they keep open till midnight which was good for her cause she could swim if she wanted. Her parents had already unlocked the front door by the time Tess pulled into the parking lot. She took a deep breath to clam herself as she made her way inside and as soon she stepped inside she was hit with memories of spending time there when she was younger.

The living room felt cozy with a black leather couch and a fireplace where the TV hung. The kitchen had a bar and a small breakfast nook, what once was a tiny dinning room her parents had turned into a library- office space that was full of hundreds of books and it had a half bathroom and Landry room all on the bottom floor. Her parents started bringing in some of the boxes as Tess made her way upstairs where there was two bedrooms and bathroom. She stepped into the bedroom that had been hers while they where there. The room was painted a light purple and her furniture was black with a sting of lights that she hang around her canopy bed which she loved as a kid. It felt weird standing in this space now cause there was pictures that her parents had taken of her playing in the sunshine when she was five. Her father came into the room and sat two boxes on the floor.

Father: " What did you find"

she didn't even answer and just pointed to the pictures on the wall.

Father: " I remember that day, We spent the whole day at the beach. It was a year before we got the news "

Tess: " I don't even remember what that feels like"

She didn't want to see the pictures anymore so she walked up and the wall and removed them and handed them to her father.

Tess: " Can you and mom keep them I don't want them"

Her father nodded and left the room pictures in hand. Leaving Tess alone with her thoughts once more as she took one last look around the room and went downstairs to where her parents were. Her parents stayed a few days helping her unpack her boxes and once it was dark them took her shopping to get food and stuff she might need while she was there. It was finally time for them to leave they hug her for what seemed like forever. " Remember to not over do it, and to watch your spending"  After her grandma passed she had left her a good bit of money and Tess reassured them that they had nothing to worry about as she watched as they got into there car just after sun set and they drove out the parking lot to head home.
