Lost in darkness

Chapter 2

Tess POV- In a small town like this word travels fast, pretty much everyone knows of her. Her parents always keep their daughter's health problems pretty much a secret so people wouldn't worry them with a million questions or judge them. Before everyone found out they just thought she was a weird anti social Gothic chick. Now everyone referred to her as the sick girl which honesty wasn't any better if you asked her. She couldn't wait till she was able to leave this town behind. Ever since she turned sixteen moving was all that she could think about. Tess dreamed about moving to a town that would let her have a normal life like everyone else. She wanted to live in a place that had a night life. A place where there was coffee shops and restaurants that stayed open into the wee hours of the morning. Where she lived at now everywhere seemed to close as soon as the sun went down. This boring little town got even more duh when the sun set each day.

She still had a year left of high school maybe even less with her grades. School had always come easy to her and she never got a bad grade in her life. She knew she always wanted to go to college for writing and art but it was something her parents didn't really talk about since they found out about her illness. Its not like they didn't want her to go they just had other things to worry about. EPP caused her to miss out on a lot in her life but this was one thing that she wouldn't let be taken away from her. She remembered that her parents used to have a vacation home in a few towns over. They used to spend holidays there and a few weeks during the summer. It wasn't anything fancy it was just a two bedroom apartment that was in downtown. And since it was known as a college town she could have the night life she always wanted and dreamed of.  She could picture the life she would have if she lived there, she would sleep her days away and then go to her night classes. She could picture herself making a small group of friends that a few nights a week they would meet for coffee and study. 

One night her parents and her all sat around the table for an early dinner cause her parents had plans afterwards. Tess figured now was a better time to tell them about her plans once she finished high school. She sighed to herself as she waited for the prefect moment.

Tess: " What are you guys planning to do with the vacation house" she paused waiting on them to answer but they gave shocked her

Parents : " Your father and I have been talking and we figured that would be the perfect place for you since its near a great school and your still be close in case something happened." her mother told her as she took a slip of her wine.

Tess: " So you guys are saying your be fine with me staying there and going to college" she said watching them.

Parents: " Yes hunny you are growing up and we know we cant keep you in a bubble your whole life, but the only way we will agree to this if you only take one or two classes a week and do the rest online, Your health comes before anything else"

Her and her parents  may not see eye to eye most of the time but she knew they only wanted what was best for her and she was happy they were supportive. After they finished dinner instead of going outside she stayed inside and helped with the dishes. It wasn't like her to not go out for the night but after dinner she was already emotionally tried and she just wanted to go to her room and be alone with her thoughts.
