Tess pov- Today was the big day and she woke up early even though her classes didn't start till 8. She sat in her room on the phone with her mother asking her how she felt and other normal annoying stuff that her parents always worried about. She was on the phone for what seemed like an hour before she finally told her mother she had to go. She then took a long hot shower letting the warm water relax her stiff muscles. After spending 30 minutes in the shower she picked out a black nail polish to paint over her already light purple nails. She also tried to make her face not look so pale but finally gave up and put on purple eye shadow and black lip stick to match her nails. She went back to her room and got dressed in a black velvet skater style dress and a pair of combat boots. She ran a brush thru her light brown hair and grabbed her school bag and headed down stairs.

She looked around her living room to make sure she had everything and then grabbed her keys and headed out locking the door behind her. She threw her bag into her backseat and got in the car and pulled out her parking lot and headed towards the campus. The closer she got she could feel her nerves starting to kick in. She knew people went to school everyday but for her it was all new and she didn't want to make a fool of herself on the first day. Once in the parking lot she stayed in her car watching as a few students have gathered around the school smoking or talking among themselves. After three deep breaths she got out her car and grabbed her bag and locked her car and headed towards the entrance.

She passed a few people in the hallway before she ducked into a bathroom to take one last look at herself in the mirror and then went and found her class. She was still early when she found her class the bell didn't ring for another 30 minutes. Once she was inside the classroom she went and sat in the back she didn't want to draw attention to herself so she figured that would be the best place to sit. She watched as students one by one begin filling up the room and picking out their seats. Her plan seemed to be working no one seemed to notice the pale girl that was reading a book. She always had a book with her ever since she was small it had become habit. Today she had the book Interview with the Vampire with her it was a book she had read at least 100 times. She flipped thru the pages waiting for the class to start tapping her foot lightly lost in her favorite novel. Over the years she had read a lot of vampire novels but she loved Anna Rice's take on the so called beast of the night. A vampire was a beast with a human soul  and she hated how some books made them look weak and lovable.
