(Rue)
Everything turns blurry as run deeper into the crowd of my uncles army. Lashing my sward, taking people's lives.
I keep reminding myself that this is the fate that they were destined for, and how they knew what they were getting themselves in to, but it doesn't make it any less humane.
I lunge forward, stabbing the man in front of me, watching red deep through his clothes.
Before the man reaches the ground, he pushes his sward in front of him, slicing the side of my leg, not deep though, but still painful. I wince, but keep going, watching everyone from the hidden temples fight around me.
I doge a sward coming my way, and slide underneath him, slicing his leg off in the process.
Blood peppers my face, and I feel vomit rising in my throat.
This is no time to barf Rue!!
I swallow it, feeling more sick than before, but I continue to run.
A man grabs my wrist, but before he can do anything g further, I stab him in the heart. He howls in pain, and falls to the floor.
Feeling tears in my eyes, I push away the thoughts, and fight some more, and more, and more and more and more, until there is no one else in black and grey jackets around me.
I fall to the floor.
When I look up, the air is dusty, and sand and drift through the air.
Along with the smell of death, and decay.
Bodies lay around me, and I notice ones that aren't in any jacket.
People from the hidden temples-not many-but still some, lay dead or invited on the floor.
"COLECT THE INJURED AND DEAD, WE MUST BRING THEM BACK TO RHE TEMPLES, AND QUICK!" The-still-alive mistress sends out orders to people, and air crafts appear in the dusty sky, and people begin to load onto the crafts.
Once my head and vision clears, I stand up, and sort of hop to mistress due to my injuries.
"Where's Jack?" I ask her.
"And Sialem, and Ivory, and Jason?"
The mistress looks around.
Before the words she was about to say come out of her mouth, I'm being picked up off the ground.
Soft lips meet mine, and all my worries wash away.
Jack leans back, and his hands cup my face.
"Oh my god, I was so worried, are you okay? Are you hurt? Where's Wallace?"
I chuckle into his shoulder.
"I'm okay, but my leg got cut and-"
Before I can say anything else, Jack puts me down, and starts to inspect my leg.
"We have to get you back, your leg needs treating or it could get infected."
I gasp.
"Where's Ivory, Jason and Sialem?"
"They're fine."
"Rue!"
I turn around and see a slightly limping Hutton.
He wraps his arms around me.
"Are you okay?"
I laugh.
"They got me in the same place they got you."
He looks at the side of my leg.
Jack clears his throat, and we both turn to look at him.
"This is..."
"Hutton, my cousin."
"Aye."
"I can't believe it's over," Hutton says.
We all look into the distance, watching the small aircrafts pick up the earths dust, as they take off.
"Yeah, and we won."
I laugh.
"Yeah, I guess so."
"I wouldn't be so sure about that."
All three of us spin around.
As I look into the distance, staring at a bloody blistered human, I think out loud,
Holy.
Shit.
