(Rue)
It feels like hours we've been in this room for hours.
Though there aren't any clocks to keep track of time.
I sit in a cold black chair in the corner of the room, Jack beside me.
"I have a plan," I say slumping out of my chair.
"There has to be at least one softie guard there, and as you know, I am quite persuasive."
"And if there isn't?" He asks.
"I have other ways."
"Your not going to kill them are you?"
"No." I state, and I don't say any further, because I think He knows what I mean.
"Okay, but if they start touching you in different ways..."
"Don't worry about that," I reassure him.
He nods, but still looks uncertain.
"Fine, what then?"
"I kill him. But there is only one thing."
His eyebrows furrow together in confusion.
"I have to be the one to kill him, I want to be the one that kills him.
I need you to go back to the village and I need you to get back up, convince them, and bring them here."
"No no no no no no no, no, I can't let you do that."
I groan in frustration.
"Can you please just trust me on this, I'm capable of doing this on my own. And if you don't leave to get help, then we're both going to die.
Even if I do die, killing him, witch is your choice?
Saving me?
Or saving the world?"
He stares sadly into my eyes, and I find I can't break our gaze, but I have to remember, me being alive, is putting us all in danger, it would be safer if I wasn't.
I have to choose my destiny, but not only mine, everyone else to.
I close my eyes, taking in a shaky breath.
"It's settled then."
"Yeah," he says quietly.
"It's settled."
This, my choice, affects the entire population of Liths.
Crap.
