I study her face, suddenly I notice the light blue flecks in her pale, yet gorgeous eyes. And the way her hair lays smoothly, and sways gracefully on her bony, yet strong shoulders.
I did want to kiss her, I did. The way she fights and sways with the winds rhythm, and the way her eyes light up, like a million fireflies dancing, when she smiles.
There's just something about her.
But why didn't she want to kiss me?
Did she want to?
Ether way, I don't back up, I stay just as close. Maybe this will break her, and she'll tell me what she's hiding.
"Please tell me," I whisper.
"I...can't" she says, her voice cracking.
Her eyes turn glassy, and she looks away.
This is the closest to crying, I've ever seen her.
Maybe she does care.
I lift my hand, and gently brush her tear of her cheek, turning her head, back to face me with my finger.
"You have to understand," she whispers to me.
"That what I tell you, will put you, and all Liths in danger. I could be kicked out, banned."
She pauses.
"I just can't."
"Why? Don't you trust me?"
"Of course I do," she says.
"Then why can't you tell me? I promise, whatever you tell me, I enter tell mistress, I won't tell any body. You have to trust me."
She looks down, but I quickly lift her chin up.
"Please?" I repeat.
"Okay," she says.
"But we need to get to my temple."
I nod, and call the wind.
I hug her gently to my chest, and the wind sweeps us away.
Sorry for the short chapter, there wasn't a lot to right, and I wanted the next chapter to be in Rue's perspective.
