"What's going on?"

Ian pulled up to America's house and turned the car off. I looked and see the lights of her house on. Her dad wasn't home though because his car was gone. I didn't know what to think or do. I couldn't remember anything despite my head pounding.
"Shawn you should just wait, wait until she tells you. There had to have been a good reason." Matt tried to convince me.
I let out a sad laugh, "Yeah and what was it Matt? If someone loved and cared about you wouldn't they have wanted you to know? Wouldn't they want to tell you even if you can't remember?"
They stayed silent, cause I knew I was right. Maybe in the beginning I would've been confused and maybe even a little weird about it. But I wouldn't have totally got rid of the possibility. I think what hurt the most was that it came from Sara.
She clearly knew what she was doing when I woke up. She took advantage of the situation, it was wrong. She told me lies but so did America. She lied and told me we were just friends and that we met through Lauren. Which I'm not sure if that's a lie or not but who knows cause I certainly didn't.
"I have to know, I'm not going to sit here and be lied to." I told them before getting out of my car.
The dark gray clouds started to pool into the area. I walked down her pathway and seen a flash of light and only a few seconds went by before a roar of thunder followed. The rain the started to pour down hard.
I hurried my way over onto her porch. But when I got to the front door I hesitated. I remembered telling her I didn't want anyone trying to force me to remember so maybe I was at fault. Maybe she had wanted to tell me but I confessed to her how I felt about not being able to remember and so she backed down. But she had the opportunity to tell me at the hospital when I asked.
My family knew, my friends knew, they all did and yet I was still fooled. I was told by my manipulative ex girlfriend instead. My ex instead of the girl who supposedly loved me.
I finally knocked on her door and could hear the tv pause. "Just a second!" I heard her shout before hearing her walk towards the door.
She opened the door and I felt all the air of my lungs leave. She was stunning, despite how I felt at the moment I got lost in the way she looked. Her hair was in a lopsided ponytail and she wore an oversized knitted sweater that stopped mid thigh. She looked perfect but I had to get what I needed to say off my chest.
"Shawn? I thought we weren't meeting till later?" America asked me softly.
I shook my head which just made it hurt more, "I needed to talk."
She stepped to the side and held the door open wider, "Come in."
I walked in and just stood awkwardly, how exactly was I supposed to ask? Just blurt it out or lead up to it?
"Shawn are you okay? You're acting a little weird." She told me with a laugh.
I ran my fingers through my wet hair, "America is there something you're not telling me?" I asked getting straight to the point.
