chapter thirty : Change

*MARKUS PERSPECTIVE*

"Okay Mica, your cervix has only dilated by 2 cm more meaning it's at 6 cm after 3 hours! Which is good but we do need to get it to 10 cm. So once again, if you have any contractions use you gas and air. Try to get as much rest as possible" the midwife says ripping off her gloves after checking Mica's vagina, which only I should be doing but I'll let it slide on this occasion.

"Okay thanks" meesh smiles watching the midwife walk out
"This is so longggg" she whines

"I knowww baby but your nearly there, then you can actually go into to labour, give birth to Aniyah, and leave" I smile taking a seat next to her

"I know" she sighs

"Since we're alone, i need to speak to you about something" I say taking hold of her hands as she's sits up

"Okayyy?" She says nervously looking concerned

"Alright so, I dont know how your gonna take this. But for about a week, I can't be around you beca-"

"What the fuck do you mean?"

"Ronny's apparently after me, and if that's the case, I can't be around you cause that's only putting you guys in danger. I also can't be in a relationship with you right n-"

"Markus" she laughs letting go of hands
"Stop bullshitting, it was Valentine's day yesterday, where you bought me a house and a car, and also a huge ass promise ring. Now your coming with 'you can't be with me"?? Fuck out my face"

"Nah, let me finish please M. I can't be with you right now only because if Ronny is after me, i don't want him coming after you or even knowing that were still together. I'm not putting you or Aniyah in danger. That's why I was acting funny earlier on cause I didn't know what to do but now I do. I won't go straight away anyways baby"

"But Markus" she whines with teary eyes

"Shit, I can't even be at the house till I sort this shit out" I mumble thinking about this whole situation
"Baby I'm so so-"

"Knock knock" Marissa says knocking the door

"Come in" Mica says quickly wiping the few tears that escaped and plastering on a fake smile

"Hey darling, I just came to check you guys are okay in here" Marissa smiles happily

"Yh mum I'm fine, have you seen Jennifer"

"Yh, I'll go get her" she says before leaving and closing the door behind her

"Mica i-"

"Leave it Markus" she cuts me off

I can't help but feel bad but if this is what I have to do then this is it. I love Mica with all my heart but putting her in danger wasn't something I signed up to do when she became mine. Imma still try and be there for her and Aniyah as much as possible until I sort this out though.

"Ite cool" I sigh getting up
"I love you meesh" I whisper in her ear before kissing her and heading out

"Where's CJ?" I ask Xavier who's falling asleep in the waiting room
