"Stay still, you little fricker, what else?."

I frown when my need for water and food becomes unbearable and I have to go downstairs to minimize it.I don't want to leave my room, but I kinda have to.
So, right now, I'm exiting my room and heading downstairs in attempt to sneak out to the kitchen and finish eating as fast and undetectable as I can and go back to bed immediately.
"Sister. Finally. You actually decided to come downstairs." Blake's voice catches my attention.
What my gaze sees immediately is the sight of that Damon guy sitting comfortably on the couch. "What were you doing anyway?" Damon decides to ask.
I frown at their curious asses and smirk wickedly as a very devilish idea comes in my mind and right out of my mouth. "I was manstu-" I stop mid sentence when I see a smaller version of Damon appear from behind the couch. "Meditating. Duh. Good for your soul."
I'm bold, but not in front of kids.
Damon snorts as he tries to hold in his laughter and looks at me with a knowing expression and surprise painted deeply on his face. I frown mentally at my abilities to read him.
"Veronica." Blake says in a warning voice.
I shrug and begin to take my final steps towards them in order to introduce myself to the kid. "You were doing the what now?" Damon asks, bringing a nice side smile on his face.
"You, shut up." Me and Blake snap at him in the same time.
I chuckle at our timing and stand beside Damon's little brother. "Hello, mate. I'm Veronica, your brother's criminal associate."
I look at Damon whose expression is now completely changed, his eyes popping out of his head in surprise. I bring my attention back to Travis when his smaller hand meets mine. "Cool." He says with an amazed voice. "I'm Travis."
I smirk at Damon proudly and see him shaking his head whilst hiding a small smile on his lips. A memory suddenly flows in my brain and I look at Travis's haircut. I almost laugh right at the sight when I see his uneven sides where he's almost completely bald on the right and suddenly has some hair on the left side. "I like your cut, g." I say, tapping him lightly on the back of his head.
That seems to do the magic as he looks at me proudly with a smile. "Thank you." Travis says. "Come sit next to me."
I nod and follow him as he sits on a random space on the couch, tapping the free spot next to Damon and him. I take the seat and lean back, resting my tired ass on the fluffy couch. I look at Damon sideways when I feel his attentive and regardful gaze. We meet our eyes and hold the gaze until a tug on my black shirt makes me turn around and look at Travis. "What's up, mate?" I ask.
"Um..." He pauses. "I just wanted your attention."
Aw, that's beyond cute.
I turn towards Damon quickly and shoot him a funny smirk. "How does it feel to not be cute?" I whisper and shake my head when I realize what I asked. "Jeez, I'm doing this way too often. What I meant is how does it feel to not be wanted?"
"I don't know, ask your cousin."
My jaw drops in shock and I gape at him. "Burn. You just managed to shock me.''
"That's what I was intending to do." He says sarcastically.
Blake scoffs. "Thanks, Damon. Leave me behind to burn."
