V E R O N I C A
Today is the shit. Today is the day that my guy turns eighteen. Let me tell you how this day started. I got up pretty early -which was painfully hard- because I needed to finally get my present for Damon.
My plan went well, plus, Blake went on a date with Ava so I was home alone, which made it the perfect time to relax. It was all good until I heard a knock on the front door. So, I descended to the bottom of the stairs towards the front door to open it.
What didn't surprise me was that Damon stood at the door, panting like a dog on a hot summer day, holding himself up with one arm placed on the doorframe. I grinned as if I saw a lizard or food and opened my mouth to sing him a happy birthday song.
What happened? He stopped me. "I need you." He says, struggling to catch his breath.
"Isn't it way too soon for that?" I joke.
He chuckles. "Sorry for stopping you. I want you to say whatever you wanted to when we get home... I mean, my house. I can't do this without you. I'm home alone and yeah. So, grab your stuff and everything you need to get ready and let's go. We'll get ready together."
I cross my arms with a grin. "Nice plan." I say teasingly.
He glares at me. "I'm waiting."
I laugh and raise my arms. "Okay, okay. I won't be long." I say and rush upstairs to pack a backpack.
I quickly stuffed everything in my backpack and rushed to join him but stopped with a halt when I realized. The present? What will I do with it? Jeez Veronica, leave it here and when you're done helping just rush and take it.
Our walk was silent and fast, we were at his house in no time. It was beautiful on the inside with white walls and black decorations which I find very cool. I didn't look around much because according to Damon, we have a lot of work.
So, I helped him with the decorations, setting the house into a party vibe and placing cups and alcohol on the kitchen counter.
Now's my favorite time because we're starting to make fruit punch. The thing is, he said we had a lot of work but it turned out to be just a couple of little things that we did in a very short time and I'm pretty sure he could've easily done them in half an hour or so. Not that I'm complaining, I love the fact that he came to me first.
Nevertheless, the punch is the last thing left to do and I'm pretty sure we have a lot of spare time after that until the party starts so I'll have all the time to get ready.
"You're very quiet today." He says, breaking me out of my thoughts while he pinches my cheek.
I roll my eyes with a smile. "I want to get drunk faster."
He scoffs. "Nice try. You are not doing that."
I raise an eyebrow. "Why not?"
He throws me a wink. "You are on my patrol."
I smile. "It's your eighteenth birthday. You need to enjoy it, not babysit me."
He grins. "Oh, trust me. Being around you is way more fun than you give it credit for."
I cross my arms. "Sure... by the way. When do I get to wish you happy birthday?"
