"You know"
"Sometimes we like to hear things that we know too."🖤
V E R O N I C A
It's safe to say that it's been nearly two weeks since we started hanging out with our new friends. Blake liked them the moment I made an introduction. He held a wide smile the entire time they talked and admittedly, I was glad.
However- Asher, Stephen and Jaxson met them a bit later. At first, the atmosphere between the guys was tense, but once some football game started they seemed to have found common ground.
Our days would go by fast. The girls would usually come by in the afternoon-mostly because I wake up then- and would always bring some fresh homecooked meals. Which was really thoughtful, me and Blake couldn't be more grateful.
We'd sometimes go out and have fun or stay home and chill, partying sometimes and enjoying our time together.
The only thing missing was Damon.
There, I said it.
I know that I've basically manifested him to go away from my everyday routine but now, his absence is making me realize the worth our newly formed friendship held.
As much as I've grown close to my girls and love spending time with them, sometimes mid-conversation, I'd stop including my opinion and pull back towards my thoughts. I would usually think about the things we talked about, how he could understand me effortlessly.
And there's the silence. One of the things I miss the most. His overall peaceful appearance was such a new thing for me.
Now I understand that I've been a fool to let that kind of friendship slip through my fingers.
I want to do something about it, but I don't want to come off as though I'm chasing him. The only thing I can do is relax and attract him if it's meant to play out like that.
So why am I having trouble sleeping? Maybe because the trip is officially tomorrow, or maybe the slight guilt rising to the surface when I thought about Damon.
I tried hard to fall asleep, I mean I even did some funny exercises on YouTube to speed up the process. But none of that was working and I was feeling like a weirdo when I saw Violet and Ava's sleeping faces and I was with my legs up the wall.
So, here I am cleaning the house and doing laundry.
"Ver, I think my eye is not working right." Blake appears in front of me, wearing an amused expression, referring to the fact that I'm cleaning.
I narrow my eyes and let out a fake gasp "Oh my god."
"What?" His amusement dissapears and his hands automatically touch his eyes.
"Ha, gotcha asshole." I say, throwing him a wink.
He points his index finger at me. "You are evil and a bully."
I roll my eyes. "Gee thanks, honey."
"Always here to give you compliments, curlyhead." He takes a step towards me and starts tapping my shoulder. My brother knows I loathe that shit, so I pinch his hand. He lets out a girly scream and glares at me.
"What time is it anyway?" He asks.
"It's like... way too late." A voice echoes from behind me, I turn around and see Violet's messy hair and sleepy face.
"We woke you up, didn't we?" I smile apologetically.
"Yeah but it's a good thing. We needed to start this day early anyway."
"I don't think it's considered day yet." I comment.
"What do we need to do today?" Blake joins the conversation, curiosity clear in his voice.
"How can you even ask that? Tomorrow is the trip, the big finale. We need to prepare." She comes next to me and starts to pull me in my room.
"I'll make breakfast." Blake calls out, letting a laugh in the process.
"You're the best." I call out.
"Okay. So, we'll start with your suitcase first." Violet pushes me inside and immediately closes the door.
"You are helping me pack?" I raise an eyebrow, looking towards Ava who I totally forgot was sleeping. She seemed unbothered and deep into her dream state.
"Hell yeah we are." She wisper shouts. "What were you thinking?"
"I don't know what I was thinking."
"Wake her up." She demands, pointing a finger at Ava.
"I don't let people tell me what to do. You do it yourself."
She shakes her head. "Ah hell no. I don't want to leave this house and go on a trip with my friends without a hand."
"What do you mean?"She glances at Ava. "She sure looks quiet and calm, but for her beauty sleep, she kills."
I scoff. "Thanks for organizing my murder."
She lets out a quiet chuckle. "What do we do?"
"I will go search for some decent and cool outfits whilst you search on Google how to indirectly wake someone up without damaging yourself." I throw her a wink and immediately head into my closet.
I'm saved.
"You'll pay for this." She threatens, making me smile mischievously.
I take a look around my closet and start taking out my planned fits. While I was taking the clothes I heard the two homies of mine having a conversation, I guess my idea worked. I approach them and place the pile of clothes in front of them.
"There, all done." I let out a sigh in relief, looking at their amused expressions.
"You thought this was the end?" Ava sheepishly questions.
"What do you mean?"
"You have to try every outfit on." Violet explains, handing me a piece of clothing.
What did I get myself into?
🖤
"Okay, you have no clothes." They both finally make a mutual decision.
I take a deep breath, defeated. "You are right."
"Well that means only one thing." Violet looks at me, creeping up a scary smile. "We're going shopping."
"I feel like I'm in the movie 'Mean Girls'." I say, taking a seat on my bed.
"That's a good compliment." Ava says. "Let's go get ready."
I hold my hands up. "Woah, woah. Wait a minute. Even if I do get clothes, how am I gonna wash them and get them ready for tomorrow?"
"Pft, honey. That's why we got up early, you have all day."
This will surely be a long day.
