Ch.12 The Trial Serum

After my little goodbye to luthic, I walk down to my crew. They all look at themselves with gleeful looks, despite their ghostly appearances. Jake mutters to himself; Jenna contantly tries to poke through herself, but fails; Conner pulls a notepad out from his pocket and starts writing onto it, and Ashley, after inspecting her status, sits down.

"Say, I know the bound warriors are a ghost of what we were, but you dont have to actually be ghostly." I joke, a smile creeping in as I finish.

They all look down at themselves again and back to me. I peer to the goddesses and candidates in the distance, who all stand around anxiously. I am going to be in for a long interrogation, I can tell that much.  

"Oh, yeah, screw you too." Jake jokes back. Same old Jake. He shakes his head, then he pulls out a flask, but finds that its empty, and curses in Russian. 

"I kinda like it." Conner says. He jams his notepad into his pocket, and pulls out a scalpel and tries to break his own skin, after he pulls back his undershirt. His medical examination of himself has begun.

"Eh, I dont mind." Ashley shrugs, staying in a plain expression, as she keeps her thoughts to herself. As stubborn and monotone as Blanc. I think in the back of my head.

"Oh, well, hopefully we wont be like this for much longer." Jenna says, scratching the back of her head as she looks at her hand.

"Its so great to have you guys back." I say with relief in my voice. I really missed my team, and after the events with arfoire at Leanbox, seeing them again makes everything feel alright.

"Yeah, and it looks like you made s lot of female friends." Jake says, eyeing them up. He looks to each of them, as they stare back with an opposite signal then what he is sending.

"This is one of those dimensions that are girl dominant. Also they're goddesses." I mention. I mainly want to warn him of that, before he tries anything brash.

"And I wont mess with them." Jake affirms me, holding his hands up to his head in a "I surrender" fashion.

"Dont matter to me." I shrug, although I doubt he actually wants to do anything with the girls, he is just making an observation.

"Say, Captain?" Jenna starts. I look over to her and see that she's staring at Plutia, and Plutia stares right back with a heartfelt look.

I sigh. "Go ahead."

Jenna quickly gives a squeal of excitement before rushing over to plutia. She is gone in a blink of an eye and halfway to Plutia before anyone can say, or do, anything.

"I have never seen that girl run so fast." Jake comments, eyes widened. 

"Neither have I." Conner says, also staring in amazement. 

Jenna basically leaps at plutia, causing them both to collapse onto the ground in an embrace. They both start to ball their eyes out in a reunion. I can't help but smile after seeing them both happy; after hearing what happened in Plutia's dimension, its nice to see them get to get back together.

"Heh, looks like you got a lot of explaining to do to your friends." Jake says.

"Yeah, I know, any chance you can tell them?" I ask.

"Nope!" "no thanks." "I dont feel like it." They all respond.

I sigh. I bring them back to life and this is how they thank me. I begin to walk over to neptune and the gang. The broken up grass crunches under my feet as I make my way to them. How am I going to go about this? I wonder, but I quickly approach them, while all but Plutia stare back at me with questioning looks.
