The generals are getting overwhelmed quickly, fighting the others they were not suppose to fight in the first place and so are all at a massive disadvantage. This all worked out well in the favor of the CPUs, who along with the candidates were quickly making work of them.
The King of the Void was far past what he once held in power, and it more than matched Max's power, it surpassed it. He wasn't keeping it stored up within him, but instead was taking the very powers he gave to his Void vassals, all except for Matt and his generals.
Max charged forward, Blazefury at the ready and at his side. The King of the Void and Max clashed together in a sudden fury of attacks from both sides. It took a moment, but they finally reached a stalemate while their blades connected.
"Hahaha! I can't believe I have come to resorting to restoring my power, but it does feel nice to be able to do this again!" The King announces before he kicks Max away from him. "If I remember correctly, the last time I had to use this power was against the first of your ilk."
"First of my ilk?" Max asks, slightly confused by what he meant.
"I mean, I fought the very first Bound Warrior, and it seems i'm here, growing back to my peek condition, to fight the last." The King explains, holding a wicked grin as he holds his dagger tightly in his hand.
"And?" Max asks, holding his own blade tightly.
"And nothing! I'm simply stating the irony of the situation we're in." The King says, but stares Max down for a moment. "However, I think this one will go in my favor, seeing how exhausted you already are."
The King was right as well, Max is tired. He skipped sleeping and instead went to stop the King, and trying to fight the three generals have sapped half of his energy. In all honesty, Max was in no condition to fight the King.
"This one?" Max asks again, hoping to stall for a bit of time to regain his energy, and using the cockiness of the Void Lords to his advantage.
"Hmm, yes. The last battle that I fought with the first damned me to this spacious hell in the first place." The King gestured around at the Void itself. "Hahaha, however, I learned many things while within here, it led me to creating my grand empire I hold now."
Max was hardly able to believe the news he was hearing. He hardly spent time learning the history of the Bound Warriors, not for a lack of care, but for the way Amory taught him; however, he can remember that there is next to no information on the first era of Warriors.
Thanks to this new information and the King's extra explanation, Max is able to gain a bit of his energy back. He then charges forward again, and continues his battle with the King of the Void.
The battle was a brutal one, although the King has much more strength than Max now. Max dodges under a lethal slash, jumps away from a kick, and blocks the King's headbutt. He then lashes out a counter attack that the King of the Void also completely avoids or blocks.
Then, the King brought his knee up to Max's stomach, causing him to fall to his knees. The King follows his advantage with stabbing Max in the shoulder, the blade driven deep. Max lets out a cry before sweeping his leg to trip the King, but he jumps above it and away.
Heavily panting, and now bleeding, Max scrambles to his feet. The King seems to hold the full advantage here, and its starting to become a battle of attrition. He holds the wound and puts as much pressure on it. Thankfully, it was his left shoulder that got hit; however he is having difficulty moving the arm at all now.
Max held out Blazefury, ready to continue fighting. The King wanted to remark his courage, but knew that the time to talk was over. The King rushes forward again, dagger held out and ready to swing.
