How can such beauty
Disrupt the bonds of time
To the point of such destruction
As no one is able to tell
Right from wrong
Or good from evil
Or friend from foe
Or angels from demons
How can something so warm
So lighthearted
So necessary for life
Destroy all within its path
Soon all one can feel is
Pain
And suffering
And grief
And pressure
The sun
Listen to me closely
For the sun itself is a deathly laser
Not meant to be tampered with
Nothing is as lighthearted as it might seem
The sun burns all who look at it
And childhood stings with the loss of it
The happiest moments only fade
to darkened memories that scratch
Your soul into a bloody mess
Then you find promises
Promises to stay by your side
To help you in this time of need
Promises
To care
To actually care
When others are only able to stare helplessly, at your raw, exposed soul
These promises too
Only lead to misfortune
Upon yet even greater misfortune
Your life cries out
That small piece of happiness
you have left screams at you
"DO NOT TRUST THESE PROMISES"
You don't listen
Why don't you listen?
You trust these bitter lies
And just as the sun
They too
Shall burn
Just as the sun
They are deathly
But unlike the sun
You cannot survive
This tragedy
