"Let's go see what they are talking about." They all stood up and headed up the stairs to Caden's room. When they arrived to the second floor they couldn't hear anything, not a laugh or quiet voices which normally could be heard.
"Oh my god I think they are dead."
"Shut up Austin!" Cole whispered, slowly opening the door that led to Caden's room. The 5 boys stood still in their places when they saw Edwin cuddling with Caden, both clearly not awake.
"That is so cute! Wait I gotta take a pic." Brandon pulled his phone out of his pocket and took a quick picture. Afterwards he turned to Zion, "Caden changed pillows m- wait are you good?" All the boys turned to look at Z.
He was still looking at the pair not bothering to even acknowledge the other boys. His mouth was forming a firm line, you could tell by the shape his jawline was forming that he was gritting his teeth. His breaths were quick as if he was trying to calm himself down, his fists were clenched. "I'm perfect," he growled.
"I smell a lie," Nick sang mocking the taller boy. "You probably are smelling shit and confusing it," Zion sneered still not averting his eyes from Caden's room. He didn't know why but whatever he was seeing he didn't like it.
"Z you are jealous!" Realization finally hit Austin and Zion hated it, could he be a little bit dumber? Caden's brother was there and now he probably thought Zion had some major crush on the girl. "No I'm not!" He yelled. Nick shushed him and covered his mouth to not disturb them.
"Then what is it?" It was now Cole's turn to ask. "Ed has a girlfriend and that looks so wrong! He could get in deep trouble." Cole scoffed at the boy, "oh for God's sake Z! You don't give a fuck about Tiffany of course you are jealous."
Zion looked back at the two, maybe he was a little jealous. He definitely didn't like how Edwin had Caden, especially considering that was Zion just throughout this past week. He didn't understand what was going on; he hated how he was feeling lately.
He should have stayed with Caden when she was panicking before, that was it. He felt guilty, not jealous. He couldn't be there for her as much as he wanted to.
"I'm not jealous Cole, I'm just guilty," he groaned. When he noticed that the other boys were waiting for him to continue, he did, "I couldn't be there for her when she was panicking before."
The boys all knew that was bullshit, he was covering up his feelings because it was a Zion thing to do. When he didn't understand what he was feeling he tried to cover it up with something known, and that's what he was doing.
Zion never had a good relationship, a real one to be exact. He had crushes and some kisses, but he never got to experience the beauty of a relationship. It was the fact that most girls thought he was too immature or goofy for them, and Zion wasn't one to change in order to please.
The 4 of them let the lie pass to avoid confrontation, they didn't want to pressure Zion into realizing something he had to start realizing himself.
He was starting to feel something for Caden, but of course being Zion he didn't know yet.
"It's late let's just go to sleep," Cole glanced at his watch, "you guys staying?" Brandon shook his head. "I think I'm gonna sleep in my room," he said bro hugging Cole and walking back downstairs, Nick doing the same and following shortly after. "Bro you coming?" Austin asked Zion, who was still looking at Caden's room. He snapped out of it, "oh yeah yeah sorry." Cole was hesitant to bro hug him but he did nonetheless.
While walking back to his room Cole knew he was right from the beginning. He knew that bringing Caden had consequences, and having two boys slowly falling for her were two of them. If this became something more for Zion, Cole knew he was going to be talking to him soon.
