"Hey you ready to go?" Yelled Edwin from downstairs. "Yeah let me get a jacket!"
It was a surprisingly chilly morning in Los Angeles. Today was the day Edwin had planned to talk to Caden, and making sure everything is cleared after that.
Caden was excited to talk to Edwin, but she was also intrigued to see when the modeling agency will call to do some photoshoots. After yesterday it's all she could think about.
"Let's go," she greeted him and took her keys. Both going outside, they started walking to see where they could have breakfast. "I know this really cool place, we can talk and eat in there."
"I have a question first," Caden stopped and glanced over at Edwin, "are we still gonna follow the original plan and get lunch?"
"You really do want In-N-Out do you?" Edwin sighed and passed his hand through his hair. Caden nodded. "Then we'll go."
Edwin and Caden both walked without saying a word. It was comfortable, but both knew they had to talk about things eventually. After ten minutes Edwin turned and stood in front of a small cafe, it looked cozy and no one was inside.
"Good morning, for two?" A young adult greeted them when both came inside. "Yes please." Edwin told her as she took two menus, "follow me please."
They both were sitting in one of the corners of the place. In front of Caden there was a wall covered in plants, something that she enjoyed.
"Do you like it?" Edwin asked her as he looked through the drinks menu. "It's very... aesthetic?" she answered looking around, "yeah that's the right word."
A few minutes later the same girl from before ventured over to their table. "What would you guys like?" She took out a little notepad and a pen.
After ordering their respective drinks the girl left with a smile. Edwin turned to Caden, looking at her.
"So..." he started, making Caden pay close attention to his words, "I wanted to first apologize again for-"
"Again? Edwin don't worry about that, it's fine and we are all fine." Caden reassured the boy, who was playing with his hands. "That leads me to the second point which is to thank you for the San Francisco opportunity."
"You guys deserve it." She smiled at him. Caden was truly happy that the boys got to do this. To her they were amazing at what they did, and she couldn't wait for them to get big.
"Here you guys have, enjoy your date!" The girl gave them their drinks and smiled. "It's not a date, just a friend." Edwin told her with a closed smile.
"Oh my bad I'm so sorry for assuming!" The girl quickly left, muttering 'this is so awkward' to herlself multiple times. "Relatable." Caden took a sip from her coffee, "this is so fucking good wow."
"The last thing is basically the whole point of this conversation," he looked at his drink, "I did like you at first, it was just a small crush but I did." Caden nodded, listening to every detail.
"I found attractive, and I still do but it's just," he struggled, as if he was carefully thinking about saying the right thing, "I needed a reality check. I was, and still am, in a relationship and I don't think I valued it."
"I thought that maybe flirting with you could make me realize what I was feeling, but I was selfish and only thought of myself. I was hurting you and Tiff, and even the boys tried to tell me that, hell even your brother warned me." Caden looked dumbfounded, "he what?"
"It was during one of your first days, when we went shopping before movie night. He doesn't know anything that happened after." Caden blinked, several times. "And we should keep it that way."
