Edwin knocked on Cole's door, the rest of the boys behind him. They waited for some time until Cole opened it.
His face didn't show any emotion, he remained serious. "Come on in." He let the door open and disappeared inside the house. The boys all followed him in.
The 6 boys sat on the couches, still the same ones from the movie night. Every time Zion saw them it reminded him of that night, he had so much fun.
"Where's Caden?" Brandon asked when he settled down, looking around the living room.
"She's sleeping, I want to talk to all of you first." Cole sighed, slightly leaning away from the back of the couch. Austin nodded at him, "about what?"
Edwin snorted but stopped himself when Cole sent him the death glare. "About what you want for Christmas Aust, what could it be about?"
"Sorry sorry." He muttered.
"Anyways," taking a pause he looked at Brandon, Edwin, Austin and Nick, "who knew about Zion liking my sister?" The four slowly raised their hands, "oh great! Why did you keep this away from me Z?"
Cole did feel bad for Zion. When he arrived, without uttering a single word, he just sat on the couch and started playing with his dreads. Dark circles could be seen under his eyes, it wasn't very noticeable but the boys saw.
"He didn't say much this morning, he's very affected by this." Nick told Cole, giving a quick look at Zion.
That was enough to make Cole realize that he really cared about the girl. Zion always exaggerates, but he knew that this was not him being extra. He couldn't tell if it was the right guy for her sister, but it was worth giving him a chance.
"Then I ask all of you that question," he pointed to the rest, "since you all knew."
"It doesn't matter why anymore," Zion said in a low voice, "Cole, you heard it from me, she likes Nick."
"It doesn't matter to you, but it does to me." Zion looked away from his hands and back at Cole.
"You are scared to see your sister dating someone because of what happened to her, move on Cole!" Zion's tone gradually got louder, "she moved on, she doesn't care," he put his hands up, "she's 18 Cole! Her own person. Let her like who she wants to like and date who she wants to date, stop being so damn protective!"
Sighing, Cole leaned back, speechless. "You don't tell me how to take care of my sister Zion." He muttered to him.
"It was one mistake, not every guy is going to be like that," Austin agreed, "and most importantly, we," he looked at the rest of the boys, "are not going to treat her like that. It's sad that you think that of your best friends."
Cole shook his head, Zion's words really got him thinking. His eyes started to water. When Brandon saw this, he covered Zion's mouth so he couldn't say one more word.
"Am I really such a bad brother?" Cole said, looking directly at Zion, "Am I such a horrible best friend to you?" A tear came down his face, making its way to his shirt.
"No I didn't mean it li-"
"Yes you meant it like that," he stood up, "you know what? If you want to date my sister go for it, I like you for her. From the little I saw I can tell you'll treat her right."
