24| how to spot a ufo

this is another thread i found on instagram that i found really interesting, especially since one of the places that is apparently one of the best places to spot ufos is one of the places i'm staying in on holiday. even though i'm only there for a couple of days i'm going to try and spot ufos when it gets dark.

some of the best places in the world to find ufos -
- anywhere in chile
- arizona, usa
- joshua tree, california, usa (this is where i'm going!)
- roswell, new mexico, usa
- wiltshire, england
- wycliffe well, australia
- m triangle, russia

you're going to want a clear sky at night. it shouldn't be too cloudy and you should distance yourself from areas of high air pollution like factories or cities.

you should also try and be in a rural area. most ufo experts agree that a ufo isn't going to show itself in places like a busy city. isolate yourself from populated areas.

don't just try searching once. spend a few days doing it so you can distinguish what is and isn't a ufo. remember that just because you personally don't know what it is doesn't mean it's an alien.

what to bring -
- telescope
- high range binoculars
- camera for taking photos/recording what you see as evidence
- someone else so you don't look crazy
- car so you can get away quickly if things get wild - make sure the lights are off while you're searching
- your computer with photoshop installed
- your tinfoil hat

what not to bring -
- anything that emits loud noises or lots of light
- big groups of people
- basically anything that could scare life away
- your skeptic friend (they'll laugh at you if you don't find anything)

a final note - remember not to go out thinking you're going to see a ufo. your bias is going to prevent you from distinguishing fact from fiction and you might think you've seen a ufo when what you saw could be explained easily. good luck and happy ufo hunting!
