11. bloom

Today was a very important day...or it's better to say evening. The thing was that it's been about a week since I recovered and got back on feet and there has been one crazy idea in my head ever since the very first day, when (Y/N) visited me to take care of me, and finally, I got enough courage to make that idea come true.

I just thought for a while about me and (Y/N). Well...I've known her for quite a long time already and, surprisingly, I even trusted her rather quickly what was unusual to me. We've already opened up to each other a lot and I even fell in love with her and almost confessed to her, but luckily I couldn't speak properly back then so she didn't understand me.

Long story short, I decided, that it was time for (Y/N) to meet Odasaku.

A couple of days ago, I visited her and I just told her, that there's "one person, who's very special to me" and that it would mean a lot to me if she met him and (Y/N) immediately agreed. Asking Odasaku to meet her was even easier because he has always been curious to see what the girl I love is like in real life.

Today was that special evening.

I promised (Y/N) to pick her up at 7pm and then, head to the bar Lupin to meet Odasaku. That's why now, I was at her front door as I rang on the bell.

To be honest, I was nervous for some reason. On one hand, I didn't have to worry about wether Odasaku was going to like (Y/N) or not because I was sure, that he was going to. But on the other hand, I was very thrilled. Maybe it was just because I was finally about to have a somewhat classic date with (Y/N).

For once, I was just feeling like an ordinary teenager. I had a crush, whom I asked out, I even bought flowers for her and now, I was just eagerly waiting for her to open the door.

And finally, after a couple of seconds of waiting, I could see (Y/N).

"Good evening, Dazai...~" She smiled softly at me, blushing slightly

I couldn't help,  just stare at her in awe, not being able to say anything.

(Y/N) looked gorgeous tonight. She was wearing a very pretty red dress, that seemed to be simple, but on her figure, it looked elegant and stylish. She was also wearing a jacket over her shoulders to not get cold and a necklace on her neck.

"Dazai...~ Your staring makes me blush...~" (Y/N) said, finally awakening me from my thoughts

"Oh, I'm sorry, (Y/N)!" I quickly apologized, giving (Y/N) the flowers "Here's a small gift for such a stunning girl~"

"Thank you~" She smiled softly, blushing and taking the flowers "They're so beautiful~ Give me a minute to put them in a vase and we can go~"

(Y/N) disappeared in the darkness of the corridor, leaving me with my own feelings, that were overwhelming me like a huge wave. I was nearly choking because of everything I was feeling and the reason as to why I was feeling like this was (Y/N) with her gorgeous red dress and stunning smile.

Love is blooming inside of me, but sometimes, its flowers are not letting me breathe.

We got to the bar, where we were supposed to meet Odasaku in about 30 minutes. We were a little late actually so he was already waiting for us inside and, for some reason, the closer we were getting to the door and thus to Oda, the more nervous I felt.

Overcoming my fast heartbeat, I opened the door in front of (Y/N), letting her enter first and then, following her.

"Good evening!" (Y/N) greeted Oda, once we entered

Odasaku turned on his chair towards me and (Y/N) as he sent me an unexplainable look, which I was simply hoping didn't mean anything negative.

"Odasaku, this is (Y/N)~ She's my friend, that I told you about~ And (Y/N), this is Oda~ He's my best friend too~" I introduced them to each other quickly to get rid of the awkward atmosphere between the two of them

"Nice to meet you, (Y/N)." Odasaku smiled softly at her "Dazai told me a lot about you so I'm glad, that we finally met. And you can call me Odasaku, like Dazai does."

"That's mutual~" (Y/N) smiled back, walking to the bar stand, before sitting on the chair next to Odasaku "Dazai said, that you're his very special friend~ So I'm happy to meet the person, who means a lot for Dazai~"

I sat next to (Y/N), being glad, that the start went well. I really hoped, that Odasaku will like her. I know, that it's a little weird to worry so much over an opinion of your friend, but I couldn't help it. Oda was the closest person to me out of all (even closer, than Ango) and (Y/N) was the girl, who I truly loved.

Perhaps...my nervousness in this situation could be compared to the nervousness of introducing your girlfriend to your parents.

"I wonder, what did Dazai tell you about me~" (Y/N) chuckled, trying to joke

I was expecting to hear "Oh, he only told me good things about you!" from Odasaku or, at least, I thought, that he could joke too and change the theme of the conversation, but I definitely didn't expect Odasaku to answer so honestly.

"Well, Dazai told me, that you're as beautiful as the first day of spring and that your voice sounds like an angel's song." He replied

I nearly choked, when I heard it, and it was just pure luck, that I wasn't drinking anything in that moment.

(Y/N) blushed and looked at me, obviously waiting for an explanation.

"Did you really say so about me...~?" She asked me, blushing more

"Actually...yes...~" I replied, not being able to keep my composure and blushing slightly too

"Dazai also told me-"

I quickly glared at Oda with that don't-even-think-about-saying-that look after which, Odasaku stopped talking for a second, quickly coming up with what to say instead of what he was going to.

"Dazai also told me, that you're a really nice person." Odasaku finally said "And now I can see, that he was right."

"That's so sweet to hear~" (Y/N) replied

"How about we order something~?" I said, trying to change the theme of the conversation to the less embarrassing one "How about starting with a little bit of sake~?"
