Odasaku hasn't stopped talking about (Y/N) ever since that day, when I introduced them both to each other. I was happy, that he liked her, but it seemed, that he liked her a little too much because she was all we were talking about. He was asking me how we met, if she's treating me well behind the closed doors as well, if I am being a gentleman as well and, most importantly, why I haven't confessed to her if I love her so much.
As to (Y/N), then she (luckily) wasn't the same as Odasaku. However, she was also asking me a lot about him on the first 2 days since their meeting, but later she stopped simply because I told her everything she was curious about. She just ran out of questions unlike Odasaku.
Long story short, the past week seemed to be like an unstoppable investigation plus lots of chaos on my job so once it was confirmed that I can have a day off today, I visited (Y/N) and asked her to spend this day with me because I urgently needed to relax.
"Wow, you really seem to be stressed." (Y/N) said once we entered my apartment
"You're right. This week was just hard for me." I replied, taking off my coat and my jacket "First reason why is because of work and the second one is because Odasaku is only talking about you"
"Oh really~?" She asked, smiling widely "I'm happy, that he liked me~ I don't want him to think badly about me because he's your best friend and he's very important to you."
Suddenly, she blushed slightly, before continuing talking.
"I know, that we're not dating...but I still want your friends to like me. I can't even explain this feeling..." She added, looking away from my face and heading to the living room
I followed her there, sitting down on the couch and sighing contently because I was finally able to rest a little without thinking about any cases, selling weapons or the gang, that stole a portion of cocaine, that Port Mafia had to sell...
(Y/N) sat down next to me and unsurely stretched her hands over to me, obviously wanting to hug me.
"Can I...?" She asked me quietly
"Of course." I replied, being quite surprised, to be honest, and pulled her closer to me, wrapping my arms around her shoulders gently
She hugged me back, resting her head on my shoulder and stroking my back.
"Sorry, I just wasn't sure if I can be this close to you." She apologized, understanding why I was so confused "We're just friends so I don't know if it's okay for just friends to do all this...I just never had friends before you..."
"(Y/N)..." I said softly, trying to sound as gently as possible, what was quite hard for me to do because I was more used to talking roughly because of my job in the mafia "You can hug me whenever you want. It's alright for friends to do this. Plus, I don't mind being close to you."
"But you don't like being close to other people." She replied "Usually, you dislike physical contact with others and you don't even hug Odasaku as often as you hug me. And even when you do hug him, it's different."
"It's because....you're special, (Y/N)." I explained "Remember what I told you? You're my special friend."
"I remember that." She said, making a small pause before speaking again "Dazai, say...can I do something as a special friend...?"
"Of course, you can." I replied "What's that?"
What (Y/N) did next managed to catch me, someone who could easily predict what others were going to do next, off the guard.
She kissed my cheek.
She just suddenly lifted her head for a single second and pressed her lips to my cheek in a quick peck, before nuzzling into my neck, obviously being embarrassed and blushing.
