Connor walked peacefully through the park with one end of a leash in his hand and Sumo on the other. Hank was way too hungover to take Sumo for a walk so Connor offered to do it, wearing the 'Detroit Police' hoodie he'd basically stolen from Hank.

The weather was decent. It wasn't very sunny but it wasn't raining either. The park was fairly peaceful, even with kids all over the playground, yelling and chasing each other, playing in the sandpit or swinging on the swings. The usual joggers were going on their daily route, elderly folk were feeding the birds and parents were making sure their kids didn't get hurt. Among the parents, Connor spotted a familiar face.

"Hi, Kara!" Connor said as he approached a soft smile on his face. Kara turned and smiled in return when she saw Connor. After the android revolution, Kara had stayed in Canada with Rose's brother for a year or so before returning with Alice to Detroit when laws for android equality were put in place, Luther had stayed in Canada. Kara had bought a quaint little house in the suburbs of Detroit with the money she'd earned from working in Canada. Alice now went to school in detroit as well which she was very happy about.

"Hello, Connor. It's nice to see you again," She said in return. She greeted Sumo as well by giving him a pat on the head. Kara looked back over towards the playground where Alice was playing with one of her school mates, who was a human, climbing all over the climbing frame with them.

"It's nice to see her getting along with someone. As much as she loves school some kids have been giving her a hard time lately," Kara said softly with a sigh, Connor gave her a sympathetic look, "They bully her because she's not human, it's not just Alice though. She's told me a few kids in her school are also androids like her and they have it hard as well. I just wish they could live normally." Connor nodded in agreement. He would love for all humans to accept androids as a form of life and not discriminate so much, but they could barely do that with their own kind. There were always going to be humans that wouldn't agree with the android's freedom but there wasn't much they could do.

"Not all humans will accept us, but we should be lucky that so many have already," Connor said softly, trying to look on the bright side of things, "Eventually more and more people will grow accustom to our presence, and if not well then that's their problem." Kara nodded, looking over at Connor again.

"I was going to take Alice to get ice cream in a minute, would you like to join us?" she asked him and Connor nodded, smiling at her.

"Sure, I'd love to," he replied. Kara watched Alice play for a few more minutes before calling her over and explaining that they were going to get ice cream. Alice was excited at the prospect of getting a frozen treat, skipping down the pathway with a smile. Kara followed and Connor walked along side her, Sumo trotting along with him.

They soon reached the ice cream truck stationed at the end of the park, Alice was already there trying to pick a flavour. Kara smiled as she stood behind her and waited for her to choose. Soon enough she chose chocolate and Kara was about to get some money out when Connor stopped her.

"I'll pay," he said softly, getting the money out and handing it to the man in the ice cream truck. Alice got her ice cream and began licking at it happily, giggling softly. Kara smiled widely at Connor.

"Thank you for paying, that's really sweet of you," She said gently, "I'd best get Alice home now, she has a lot homework to do." Kara was about to turn to leave, but stopped, then turning back to Connor and giving him a kiss on the cheek.

"See you around, Connor," She said and waved as she walked away with Alice, heading down the street. Connor stood there for a moment, his hand going up and touching where she'd kissed, a blue blush on his face.
