-13- Gravity: a Force to be reckoned with

Author's POV

"Alright, let the baking commence!" "Y-yeah...!" Natsuki looked unimpressed, "Come on man, put some spirit into it idiot." Natsuki raised her fist, "Let the baking commence!" Daniel chuckled at the smaller girl and raised his fist too, "YEAH!". They looked at each other and burst out in laughter.

"Well, now that that's over, could you grab a bowl? We need to mix some ingredients for the batter." Natsuki ordered Daniel, "Yes ma'am!"

And so the cupcake baking has begun...

The cupcakes were almost ready to go into the oven, but there's a slight problem, the whole kitchen was a mess.
Everywhere you looked laid something that resulted from the process of baking cupcakes.

"Crap man, I have to clean all of this afterwards." Daniel said while not looking forward to it, "Yup, sucks to be you..." Natsuki replied while smirking. "Are you not going to help me clean up afterwards Natsuki?" "Nope." Natsuki replied, popping the 'p'. Wrong answer thought Daniel, he then grabbed some flour from the countertop without Natsuki noticing.

"Well maybe I should give you something to take home with you then." Daniel got closer to Natsuki and he begun to grin evilly. Natsuki found this very suspicious and naturally started backing away, "W-what do you mean by that Dan?" "Oh I don't know, just a little souvenir or something..." Daniel kept getting closer and Natsuki kept backing away, but not for long, since Natsuki eventually came to met the other end of the counter.

"Seems like you're stuck, eh?" He said while placing his hands on the countertop around Natsuki; so she really had nowhere to go. Holy sh!t, I've never seen Natsuki so flustered before, it looks so adorable! Those thoughts wavered in Daniel's mind. Natsuki's face was completely red, but to make it even worse Daniel started to close in on her face.
Every centimeter Daniel's face got closer, the redder Natsuki's face got.
And right before the gap between them was able to be closed, Daniel placed his hand with the flour on her head.

"H-huh?" Natsuki still wasn't able to say something. Daniel on the other hand started to ruffle her hair further.
When Daniel was done, he clapped his hands and looked at a surprised Natsuki.
"Wow Natsuki, you look super cute!" Daniel said with sparkles in his eyes. "You should put some flour into your hair more often." Daniel laughed. "Y-you i-idiot..." Daniel has made a huge mistake and he probably noticed that himself after he looked at Natsuki again.

Natsuki was grinning deviously. She started walking in Daniel's direction, while she walked she conveniently grabbed an egg in each hand; which were leftover from the batter. Daniel saw this as a sign to run for his life. But his masterful plan only worked for so long, since the mess on the ground made him slip almost instantly. There he was, laying on the ground, as he waited for the soft footsteps to get closer and most likely end his life. She now stood over him, ready to attack.

Daniel chose his final words, "Just put me out of my misery already." The villainous aura around Natsuki suddenly disappeared, "Sure, since you asked so nicely." With that she slowly cracked one egg after the other and rubbed it through his hair. "Aww Dan, you look so adowable!" Natsuki said mimicking what Daniel said before. Daniel almost smiled with her, seeing her cute smile appearing again, but that feeling disappeared quickly since Natsuki had grabbed her phone; ready to take a picture of him.

No no no, that's not gonna happen thought Daniel. Seeing he didn't have much time to take action, he did the first thing he could come up with. So with that he quickly grabbed Natsuki and switched roles with her; Natsuki is now laying on the ground with Daniel hovering over her. Natsuki was absolutely speechless, blood started rising to her face once again seeing the position they were in and how close their faces were.

What to do now? Daniel's mind was stuck, he couldn't use some other ingredient since that would certainly mean revenge, not that he's able to reach anything from here anyway. Different ideas came across his mind but Daniel decided that it would be best to tease her again, because Natsuki can't really handle being teased.

Daniel looked deeply into Natsuki's vibrant pink eyes, while Natsuki's face just matched her eyes in color. "D-D-Dan? What a-are you d-doing?" Daniel just kept silent and started leaning in on Natsuki, while Natsuki's face just kept getting redder.
Daniel stopped when his face was just a couple centimeters away from her's.
He parted his lips to say something but right at that moment, his hands lost their grip due to them being in some spilled egg on the ground. Because of his hands losing their grip, Daniel's entire body was lost to gravity, which at the same time closed the gap between the two.

The 'kiss' wasn't very comfortable at first; seeing it wasn't actually intended. But both of them couldn't resist anymore, even Natsuki, and they just gave in, turning it into a kiss both would not forget for probably the rest of their lives.
