"bye, i love you baby," hayden summerall whispered, pecking his girlfriend on the lips. mackenzie ziegler giggled and draped her arms around hayden's shoulders, leaning forward for a long, sweet, kiss.

"i love you too, babe."

"are you sure you don't want me to drive you home?" hayden questioned, looking concerned for the brunette's sake.

mackenzie laughed and shook her head, kissing hayden one more time. they said their farewells, and she skipped down to her car happily.

she couldn't stop laughing at hayden's corny jokes, or stop blushing at hayden's flattering compliments. it was an amazing night.

she inserted her car keys into the ignition and she turned it on.

( that sounds wrong i- )

smiling softly to herself, she pressed down slightly on the pedal, and she cheered. she wasn't going too fast, or going too slow. she finally was able to put down the right amount of pressure on the pedal.

it would probably be a bad time to tell you she failed her driving test five times.

somehow, she managed to get her license by flirting with the instructor.

he couldn't have been any older than thirty, and he was a single man. men and their crazy hormones, smh.

but all that matters was that she got her driver's license, right?

mackenzie was an awful driver. she didn't want to admit it, but a penguin would have a better job driving than mackenzie.

speaking of penguins, mackenzie loved penguins. they were her favorite animal, and she once tried to sneak a penguin out of the zoo on a school tour because she wanted one so badly. kaydentherelowaysucks elementary was now banned from going to zoomyzoomzoom zoo ever again.

then she got suspended.

mackenzie grinned and sub-consciously took a right. she imagined her arch nemesis, jade smith, suspended from the ceiling by a spiderweb. jade hated spiders.

she smirked, and suddenly, she got a text.

the last thing she saw was her best friend, dripping in blood, falling on the ground with a serene smile on his lips.

the word johnny! froze in her throat.

then she drifted into unconsciousness.

mackenzie's eyes fluttered open. was she in heaven? everything was stark white; the ceiling, the walls, etc. her body was really itchy; some sort of material was rubbing against her skin. there was also a needle stuck to her arm.

"well, well, well. look who has woken up."

mackenzie shifted slightly so she was facing the person who spoke. a nurse with blonde hair and icy gray eyes smile was strained, like it pained her to be smiling at mackenzie. she was about twenty-five, mackenzie noticed.
