light my cigarette.

johnny orlando observed his surroundings carefully. he was at one of lilia buckingham's friday parties, overflowing with drunk and horny teens as usual. red solo cups decorated the floor and carpet, wine stains adorned the walls. johnny sighed, rolling his eyes; the stench of alcohol and sweat finally getting to him. he briefly looked around for his sister, lauren, whom had her lips locked with noah schnapp.

"lolo, i'm leaving. can you get your friend to drop you home?" johnny muttered, making his younger sister break the heated kiss and glare at him momentarily.

"yeah, yeah, whatever. don't be surprised if i don't come home tonight, though," lauren uttered lazily, before turning back to noah. "fuck, i'd be surprised if you did. you'll probably meet a girl or some shit just as you leave."

johnny ignored her and snatched a lighter from a random girl's jeans, slipping through a sudden wave of people. he was only slightly tipsy, yet he still stumbled around like he was full on drunk, looking for an exit.

finally, johnny found it, although it was blocked by a bunch of guests that suspiciously looked younger and awkwardly out of place. he shrugged it off, hurriedly leaving and slamming the door shut. the blonde bit his lip, staring at the lighter he had stolen. he hadn't touched one in weeks, but the tiny amount of alcohol he consumed made him itch for a cigarette.

without even realising it, johnny's hand had snaked its way to the back pocket of his jeans, pulling out a small packet of cigarettes. hayden, the closest person he could call his best friend, had given him a pack before the party. apparently, he wanted to charm annie leblanc and didn't want to seem like a douchebag. which he was, by the way, but annie wasn't aware of that. she just saw him as the mysterious, attractive guy from english class.

it wasn't long before johnny had taken a long drag, closing his eyes. he would go home, soon. just after a little while. he deserved it; he managed to get decent marks on his maths test, and completed his homework in time for a week in a row.

he enjoyed the peace and tranquillity while it lasted, soaking up the silence. it was rarely ever like this, at home. his sisters argued, his parents yelled, music blared through his earphones to keep out the screams. oh, anything to keep out the screams.

johnny heard a door slamming, and a pretty brunette came striding out. she had messy brown hair, like someone was running their fingers through it, a tanned face, and beautiful, chocolate brown eyes. her red crop top hung off her left shoulder loosely, high-waisted shorts complimenting her legs. black, chunky, ankle boots echoed off the pavement loudly with each step she took. in the girl's right hand, she clutched a half empty whiskey bottle.

"room for one more?" she drawled. johnny turned his head towards her a bit more, before smirking.

"i don't see why not," he replied, dropping the cigarette and stomping on it, "only if you give me some of that whiskey," he raised his eyebrow, cocking his head to the side. the brunette smiled for a second, nodding.

"only if i can have a cigarette," she responded, the corner of her mouth quirking up. johnny chuckled, and beckoned her closer. "wow, you're even more gorgeous up close," he whispered, as she approached him.

the brunette blushed and winked, taking a swig from the bottle as she leaned against the wall, just beside johnny. she offered him the whiskey and he gratefully accepted, placing it to his mouth.

johnny took the packet out of his jeans again and dangled one between his lips, lighting it. he held it out to the girl, whom took one carelessly out.

"light my cigarette for me," she demanded. her tone of voice wasn't bossy, but it wasn't a question either. johnny lit it up quickly, concentrating on his own. he ignored her smirk and lingering stare.

it was a long time before either of them talked. they enjoyed each other's presence, the occasional sound emitting from the brunette's boots, a swig of whiskey, or the flick of the lighter.

it took a while, but when johnny was about to offer the last cigarette to the other teen he realized she was staring at him. not like a dreamy sort of stare, like she was thinking about something, but like she was conscious of it.

"you okay?" he mumbled. that seemed to snap her out of her thoughts. she smiled, forced, but persuasive she was fine. the only difference was that he saw through it.

"you're attractive," was all that left her lips. johnny didn't break eye contact as he slowly moved his hand to her hair. he twirled it gently around his fingers, watching it slide smoothly.

"what's your name?" johnny suddenly asked, curiosity dancing excitedly as it corrupted his thoughts. the brunette looked startled, vaguely uncomfortable. johnny bit his lip the second time that night, patiently waiting for an answer.

"mackenzie."

"mackenzie, hm?" johnny repeated, continuing to play with her hair, "it suits you. they're both very pretty." the girl, now identified as mackenzie, had a light pink colour dusting her cheeks.

"i'm curious about yours," was all she said in return. he grinned widely, not missing a beat.

"johnny."

"johnny, huh? it suits you," mackenzie mimicked playfully. "a hot name for a hot boy."

johnny didn't know how it happened, or what led to it, but he could only remember flashes of it. their lips crashed together, a passionate, fiery, kiss, hot enough to set a house on fire. it wasn't long before johnny had carried mackenzie to the back of his car.
