I arrived late last night, maybe at about seven in the evening, and I went straight to bed after that. I wasn’t really feeling like communicating much and I wasn’t hungry.

No, I’m not hiding from Chris or anything like that, I just need time to figure all this out before finally getting the chance to tell him about it.

I’m planning on going back home today, I’ve been here for long enough. “Morning.” I say to Chris as I find him staring down at me.

“Morning, my angel. How did you sleep?” He asks sounding a bit concerned.

“Good.” I don’t really have the energy to make small talk with him and I can’t help thinking about the possibilities of him being a were.

“I’m thinking of going back home today. My mom surely misses me and I don’t feel like going to school either.” I say instead and look away from his penetrating gaze. “

Sure. What time are you leaving? Or should I accompany you since I’m the one who took you from your house? Maybe it’s best if I take you home…” He’s blabbering. Something is definitely going on.

“What’s going on? Is everything okay?” Now it’s my turn to be concerned. “Angel, I need to tell you something.”

Oh no, that can’t be good. “I know you went to the library to do some research yesterday. I was hoping you would figure things out a bit later on, you know.

I wanted to be the one to tell you everything, but I guess that’s not going to happen anymore.” When I don’t reply, he takes this chance to carry on.

“I am a werewolf. I shifted when I was only sixteen years old. My parents also don’t know what kind of a beast I am and I’d like to keep it that way, at least until I leave home. I have a pack almost 3 hours from the school and I visit them quite often.

I don’t want to tell you everything unless you’re ready and judging by the look on your face, I take it that you’re not ready.”

What?! He’s a werewolf and he’s been keeping this secret from me? I’m speechless at this moment so I say the first thing that comes to mind.

“Am I your mate?” He’s taken aback by my question, but chooses to answer me nonetheless. “Yes, yes you are. I was planning on telling you, Angel, I really was. But I didn’t know how and I was afraid you would be scared of me.”

He looks tortured when confessing this to me and I can’t help but feel guilty for going behind his back.

“Angel, baby, say something. Please.” He pleads with me after a few seconds of silence. “Can I at least think about all of this before coming up with a decision?

This is just all new to me.”

I can’t believe my worst nightmare is true. That explains the buzz and fire I feel every time he touches me, the energy that flows between us when he just looks at me.

This explains his abnormal strength and hearing abilities. Running out of breath, I put my head back down on the pillow and process what he just told me.

Funny thing is that I’m not afraid of him, I’m afraid of leaving my family behind, since I’m his mate and all, I have to go where he goes. No matter what.

“So what’s going to happen to me now?” I ask him after thinking some things through. “Well…” he starts, but is disrupted by a knock on his bedroom door.

A few seconds after the knock, his mother enters and looks in between us as if sensing the tension in the air. “Breakfast is ready. Is everything okay in here?” She asks after receiving a nod from both Chris and I.

I think she can sense that none of us are willing to talk, so she reminds us again about breakfast and scurries out of the room.

“As I was saying… as you are my mate, it is expected of you to be by my side all the time. I’m guessing that you want to know what will happen to you when I mark you?” he asks and I nod.

“Well, when I mark you, you will become one of us as well. And since you’re over sixteen, you will shift when the next full moon comes after I’ve marked you.”

He says it like it’s no big deal. I will become one of them?! I will become a werewolf as well! “Come, let’s get you cleaned up. We have a lot to talk about.” He says as he grabs my hand and leads me to the bathroom.
