“Is she dead?”

I hear Jane's voice as I make my way towards the kitchen.

“I don't care if she's dead or not, she's a threat to my Luna.” He seethes out just before I enter the kitchen.

The next thing he does is sniff the air, probably sensing my arrival and they all freeze in place.

“Baby I-” He begins, but I cut him off.

“Save it, Christopher. I don't wanna hear it.” I say as I raise my hand to silence him.

Jane and Luke bow down in respect as I speak, probably because they can feel my power radiating off of me in waves.

“So she's the reason you went stiff when you saw her?” I ask him, but I already know the answer.

I grab the car keys from the key holder on the wall when he fails to reply and give them to Jane, because of my size, I can't drive.

“Let's go, Jane.” She follows suit after I give Chris and Luke one last death glare.

Chris' POV

Angel was livid when she saw Elsa kissing me and I don't blame her.

Not only is she the Luna of this pack, but she's pregnant as well, so her hormones are ten times worse than normal.

“Get her to the infirmary. And get the warriors in here, quick. We have to use our time wisely before the girls get back.” I tell Luke as I make my way to the living room for a quick meeting.

I don't want to mind link the pack because Angie might hear me, so to be safe, I have to say the orders using my lips.

A few moments pass before the warriors scurry inside the house, towards the living room.

“Warriors, we have a new mission at hand. The Blood River Pack's Alpha wants my territory and I'm sure he will be attacking this pack to take it from me, by force. So we have to prepare for a war.”

I feel my anger rising as I give the warriors instructions.

“The only problem right now is that my mate, your Luna is pregnant with my pups and our wedding is not far from now. We have to make it our mission to delay their attack to confuse them a bit.”

“Why don't we just set up a meeting with the Alpha and make him a deal or something?”

Luke suggests.

“I'm not giving that good-for-nothing Alpha my land, Luke!”

I slam my fists on the coffee table and the men step back a bit.

“We have to make this work, otherwise we can all say goodbye to El Noir Pack.”

I say as they all gasp, taken aback by my words.

Suddenly, I feel someone trying to push through my mental barrier just as I feel scared and distraught.

I then realise that these are not my emotions.

Angel.

Chris, we're being followed.

I hear her melodic voice in my mind, only this time, she's scared and probably panicking.

“Angel and Jane are in trouble, let's go!”

Angel's POV

“Chris is something else, you know. I can't believe he kissed that girl.” I feel my wolf resurfacing again as I see images of the two of them.

“Angel, calm down. It's not good for the baby.” Jane says from beside me in the car.

“How could he do this to me? I'm pregnant with his pup and he decides to go kiss someone else?” I feel tears threatening my eyes.

“I don't justify what he did, but he probably has an explanation to all this.” Jane mutters from beside me in the coffee shop.

Since I can't drink too much coffee in case it might endanger the baby, I ordered a glass of orange juice and a big choc chip muffin.

“So what do you plan on doing about this situation?” She asks after a moment of comfortable silence.

“I really don't know. What I do know is that I will not stress myself over a grown man. He'll do that on his own.” I firmly state.

Jane and I make our way to the car after leaving the final store. She wanted to buy herself some underwear, but she ended up buying herself some lingerie instead.

“I wonder what Jonah’s reaction is going to be when he sees you in these.” I snort, unladylike.

“I don't think he'll have a problem if I model them for him.” I hear the mischievousness in that soft little voice of hers.

We enter the car and drive home after the long day we've had.

“So when am I getting Godchildren?” I ask her as she mingles in with the traffic.

“Woah there. I'm not ready to be a mother yet. I don't think I can handle small creatures who poop, cry and eat all the time. Not yet anyways.”

She says after she recollects herself from the near panic attack.

“Angel, mind link Chris and tell him to get his ass here, right now!” Jane whispers in fear and agony next to me.

“Why, what's wrong?” I ask her, confused at the sudden change of atmosphere.

“We’re being followed.” She says, pointing to the rear view mirror.

I try pushing hard at the mental barrier that only he and I share and scream in fear.

Chris, we're being followed!’

‘What!?’ He growls in return, making me wince.

‘Black SUV, tinted windows and no license plate. Hurry!’

I scream out, feeling a panic attack coming along and seeing black dots at the corners of my eyes.

Jane notices this and tries to calm me down while trying to escape the SUV at the same time.

“Angel you have to calm down before you get a panic attack!” She screams at me.

“Too late.” I whisper out, knowing that she heard me and then I'm engulfed by complete darkness.
