My talk with Chris this morning went pretty well.

He explained everything that I needed to know about their kind- which will soon be my kind as well, and he made sure I was comfortable with being by his side as his ‘wife’, because being mated in the werewolf world is like marriage in the human world.

Right now I’m sitting in my room at my house finishing off my homework that Jane sent me and I managed to get through some assignments that I have to finish before the end of next week and I’m glad I have only one assignment left to do.

When I heard a beep from beside me, I mentally gagged at having someone disturb me when I was so deeply concentrated in doing my homework, but when I saw who the text was from, I had a valid reason why- the text was from none other than Rose’ herself.

Well look what the cat dragged in. I thought to myself.

Rose’: Meet me at the library, I need to tell you something…

Okay that’s a bit weird. Why would she want to meet up with me in the first place, she ended our friendship! After a few minutes I decided to text her back.

Me: I’ll be there in 30 minutes.

The moment I sent that text to Rose’, I scrolled through my phone to look for Jane’s number and hit the call button. It rang three times before she picked up.

“Hey Angie. What’s up?” What’s up!? She picked up the phone after the 3rd ring, that is regarded as testing each other’s patience and she knows it, but it could also be because she was busy so I let it slide.

“Guess what. Rose’ wants me to meet her at the library, apparently she wants to tell me something.” I say to Jane in a matter of fact tone. “Well you should go and hear what she has to say.

Should I come with you?” She asks, sounding too persistent for my liking. “No it’s fine. I’ll probably come over to your house after that. I’ll talk to you later, okay?”

After we said our goodbyes I put on warm clothing as the sun was beginning to set outside. I put on a pair of black track pants, a baggy shirt which I tucked in, and my converse.

I took my matching jacket to put over my shoulders and made my way downstairs to get the keys to my mom’s car which she allowed me to borrow since she’s been a bit sick.

The drive to the library was just 15 minutes and I hadn’t realised that I took over 20 minutes to get ready and finally make my way here.

Walking through the door of the library I spotted Rose’ sitting in the far corner and reading a book. I made my way over to her gaining the confidence to just end this and hear what the hell she wanted to discuss with me.

“Rose’.” I whispered as I reached her table, causing her to look up and when she did, I saw a hurtful expression on her face.

“Hey, please sit. I thought you wouldn’t come.” She says. I remember sending her a text saying ‘I’ll be there in 30 minutes’ so I don’t understand why she thought that I wouldn’t come.

“Well you sounded urgent so I decided to come hear you out.” I said looking very bored that she asked me to come by so late, and it’s freaking cold! I don’t know why I didn’t bring a coat or something with me. “Look, Angel.

I know you’re wondering why I asked to meet with you this late in the day, so I’m just going to spill it out.”

She said with a determined look in her eyes that seemed to change into a look of frustration and sadness, which made me wonder what was bothering her.

I know we’re not friends anymore, but that doesn’t mean she deserves to be unhappy, no one deserves to be unhappy.

Taking hold of her hand on the table, I looked in her eyes and told her,

“Rose’, even though we’re not friends anymore, that doesn’t mean you can’t tell me what’s bothering you.” Seeing her smile as I said that assured me that she needs someone to talk to at the moment.

“I just thought that as you are Chris’ girlfriend you should know something. It saddens me to think that he’s keeping things from you yet I don’t know if you know this already.”

I wonder what it is she knows about him. “I saw him running into the woods the other day and I saw a few guys run after him, I think he’s in trouble with those people who were chasing after him…”

Rose’ continued and I chose to tune her out since I know why she thinks he was being chased.

‘Chris really does need to hide his nature spirited true self from people.’
