Cross felt hot and sticky, but still weirdly felt unaffected by the heat. He was sweating, but not all the same. He didn't know why.

Opening his eyes, he was met with chaos and fire. The flames danced from one wooden house to the next. The darkened sky turning to a near black color from the ash and smoke.

The monsters were screaming, running around in a panic! Still, the white skeleton felt calm... He didn't know why, but he found no room in his soul to care.

He made a small mark in the AU, their coding appearing before him. He took some of it, never copying. The buildings and items he took, broke and crumbled, becoming nothing in a matter of seconds. Still, he found there was no room in his soul to care... Like he ever would, not for them.

"Hey!" A sharp voice shouted over the mess, drawing the bored monster's attention.

Standing in front of him was a white skeleton, much like himself, wearing a black jacket with yellow fluff around the hood. However, their teeth were sharp like fangs, one of them being a gold tooth. They wore a red turtle neck shirt with black basketball shorts that had two yellow lines going down the sides. He also wore these red and white sneakers that were coated in dust and dirt.

The new comer made the skeleton feel nervous and self conscious of how he looked... He was nothing like his counterpart... That was for sure...

He summoned his knife as the new comer summoned thousand of bones to fight for him. There were no words to be spoken as they entered a battled.

The more edgy monster was quick on his feet, moving and attacking with ease as his red eye became all that Cross could see.

This monster wouldn't give up, dodging all of the attacks. Even still, the white wearing skeleton knew that this monster couldn't dodge forever. He would weaken if he had to do that.

Still, the battle raged on for far too long. Cross started to grow angry. He didn't like this new comer... He didn't like how he was meddling with what he had to do!

'Kill him, Cross. I know you want to..." A child's voice started, giggling darkly.

A faint outline of a child emerged in the monster's side vision. Growling, he did as the voice asked.

He fought harder, becoming faster while the other was growing weaker. With the final strike, the edgy skeleton was dusted. There was no cry of pain, no gasp to be heard; only wide, terror filled eyes as their soul shattered instantly.

Huffing, the monster felt movement behind him. Turning swiftly, he was able to block an attack from a taller skeleton. He had sharp teeth like the other one, just without the gold tooth.

"You killed my brother, you little brat!" He howled as he attacked the smaller.

Cross was by now, completely done. He summoned thousands of knives and shot them at the taller skeleton. MERCY was no longer in his mind, MERCY was something he would never show to people and creatures like him.

The attacks didn't hit as the more edgy skeleton blocked them easily. Which was what Cross was hoping for.

He teleported behind this new monster and cut him down a few sizes. The stronger monster gasped in pain, falling to his knees as he slowly became dust.

"You will pay..." He groaned, falling to his side as Cross bordly kicked the pathetic monster down.

"I don't think so, Papyrus... No one can touch me after all." He hissed, stomping his foot down into the other's ribs, snapping them instantly.

Papyrus howled in pain, head thrown back. The chaos had long been forgotten, but the warmth of the fires weren't enough for the short skeleton. They didn't help his freezing bones anymore... They didn't warm him at all... They only served as a reminder of what he had lost so long ago... something he was trying to get back now...

"Where to next, Chara?" He looked over to the ghost like figure.

They smirked, their red eyes darkening. Compared to both of them, they were considerably the sweeter one, but they were just as twisted.

"Let's go home, Cross."

The words were filled with anger and malice, but it wasn't what made the pale skeleton shudder... It was the awful feeling that he was being watched... The other monsters have been killed off by each other in their panic as well as the fires... So, who was watching him?

Someone was watching him... The same person was always watching him as he drove fear into the souls of everyone he met... Then... He saw them...

Their looming figure radiated power and fear, but it wasn't the monster's fear that it radiated... It was the fear that Cross had caused... Fear that made him sick...

"Why don't you join me, kid?" The voice was dark and powerful, commanding the attention of the killer.

A small voice, not like the kid's, whispered no... Told him not to trust this being... to not go with him... But that wasn't what came out of his mouth...

"Alright, lead the way boss."

What a mistake he had made...
