Cross wondered around the castle, his feet bringing him down a very dark hall. It was actually darker than most of the other halls in the terrifying castle.
There weren't any doors or windows down the hall either, it being sparsely lit by deep purple torches. The hallway was much colder than the one he had previously left.
Carefully, the white wearing skeleton grabbed a nearby torch. He didn't know where he was going, just something that was luring him down that way, something that called to him.
The low glow of the torch barely lit a few feet in front of him, making him groan quietly, slowing his steps. He wanted to know what was down the hall as Nightmare and Killer missed the entire hall in general. They had told him the places that he could and couldn't go, but they had for some reason left this one unnamed.
Being the curious little, jelly bean he was, he hurried down the hall as fast as the light would let him. The darkness was sort of suffocating... It drowning in every section of the long corridor.
The dark purple flames were quickly replaced with bright, intense blue ones, they easily fighting the darkness back.
Switching one of the blue flaming torches with his purple torch, he continued on his way.
He looked around, being able to make out a bit more. The corridor's flooring was made out of mahogany boards, the dark red color looking black in the bland lighting. The walls were made out of onyx and garnet, the two colors mixing perfectly together in the dark.
An odd smile pulled at his lips as he saw the metal armor lining the hallway, as well as pictures of other places. The only disturbing thing about them, was that they were dying... Being riddled with nightmares, pain, death, and so much more horrible things...
Still, they looked sort of peaceful in the long hallway.
Suddenly, there was an old oak door off to the right. An X was harshly carved into the old wood, it having been there for maybe more than two or three years.
Something inside of him stirred at the sight of the door, his footsteps quickening. The flame danced hungerly towards the door before acting as if wind had blown it away.
It was a bit confusing, but the small skeleton shook it off, letting his hand gently brush against the wood. It was rough, old and worn down. The area where he had placed his hand was soft though, soft and faded. The person who had owned the room must've always placed his hand there many times, sanding the area down.
Sucking in some air, Cross pushed open the door.
The room was much darker than the hallway, not even the blue fire was able to make a small dent in it.
Not letting this deter him, he walked it. The torch in his hand blew out, the flames flickering for a second more, before being rendered useless.
Dropping the large, metal object, it made a soft thud on the carpeted floor.
Closing his eyes, the white monster raised his hand and snapped his fingers, imagining an open room filled with gorgeous pale yellow lighting. The idea just came to him, the action and thought one of old habit it seemed.
When he opened his odd eyes, he couldn't help but smile happily as he noticed the room no longer was bathed in darkness!
The room was small, having a door off to the right, it being shut tightly. There was another door on the other side of it, it also being shut tightly.
Cross snooped around, looking underneath the bed, inside the drawers of a few things. There wasn't anything really significant other than that this person had the same fashion taste as himself and that they really liked knives as there were more than several hidden through out the room.
'We shouldn't be here...' A quiet voice muttered, it was faint, almost like it was too weak to speak any louder. Scared maybe?
Wincing softly, the white wearing skeleton nodded, letting the light of the room dim into nothing.
Carefully, he made his way out, picking up the metal torch.
It was cool to his touch, but he didn't mind. Snapping his fingers, a burst of blue flames once again appeared in the torch.
The light was much brighter, letting the docile skeleton see farther.
Walking back down the hall, he sensed that he wasn't alone... But that was impossible right? The others were all over the place and Nightmare wouldn't try to scare him... Right?
Gulping softly, he hurried his steps. He didn't want to find out if he truly was alone or not.
After some minutes passed, he was near the half way point where he had changed the torches. That's when something attacked him.
It knocked him down, breaking a few weak bones, making the smaller cry out in pain!
Using the fear and his magic, Cross threw the unknown thing off of him! It grunted in pain as it hit the floor with a reckless thump.
The white wearing monster didn't wait to find out who the hell it was, he just jumped up and ran! He ran as fast as his legs could carry him, his mind racing with millions upon millions of thoughts, but only one stood out.
'Find Nightmare.'
The thought was whispered, it repeating over and over, until that was all he could hear.
His feet pounded on the dark floors, the sound of echoing footsteps catching up to him not going unnoticed. He didn't know where he was going, but didn't dare to stop, just letting his body take control.
Nightmare huffed as he was in the middle of a meeting with Raspberry, Possessed, Reaper, Lust, and Sci.
"The Star Sanses are growing stronger with every new fight now that Error is on their team." Reaper mumbled, a complete bored look on his face as he fiddled with a locket that Geno made him.
"Then we'll need to-" The King of Fear tried to say, but was instantly stopped when the doors to the room were thrown open and a blur of white rushed in, harshly colliding with him.
The gooey octopus was a second away from shouting profanities at the innocent monster, when he saw one of his Papyrus guards.
"Great!" He groaned, sending a tentacle threw the other gooey creature, absorbing it's life force once more. "Now, off." The tone was harsh and cruel, the same one he used all the time with the white wearing monster.
The other dark Sanses snickered as Cross instantly pulled back, tears glistening in his eyes. Well, that was until they saw the purple blood bleeding through his thick coat, some of it on their King as well.
"What the hell, Cross! What happened!" The being of fear shouted, eye wide with worry, worry none of them saw as they felt a twinge of worry themselves.
"I-I..." The timid creature tried to speak, but their voice flattered as they finally saw all the eyes on him. "I-I..." Softly, he took a step back, his red and white pin pricks shrinking in pure terror.
The fear rolled off of him in waves, waves that all could feel. It made them wince as they felt the distress filling every nook and cranny of the room, suffocating them all, specially Nightmare who could feel the full extent of the dread.
"Hey, it's okay... It's okay... I'm not mad, just tell me what happened... It's okay..." The monstrous being murmured, trying to keep his voice quiet in a soothing manner.
The pale skeleton whimpered as the pain finally started to catch up with him. Cross tried to take another step back, but the movement made a quick sharp pain explode across his body. The pain may have been quick, it still was enough to make his knees buckle under his weight.
Nightmare groaned as he easily caught the light weighted skeleton, making him furrow his brow in confusion. Yes, he knows that Cross most likely hadn't had too much to eat in the pass two months, but still! The guy shouldn't be weighing like he was nothing!
"I'll be back." The King growled out, storming out of the room, leaving his loyal men in shock. He had more important matters to tend to at the moment.
