Nightmare stared down at the monster who seemed to look like Cross. The red and white eyes weren't firm and strong, they were filled with fear and mistrust, but they were also filled with confusion. He wore the same clothes that Cross had wore when he left, but something wasn't right about this skeleton.

They nodded, still looking confused.

"O-Okay... I-I'm s-so-sorry that I a-attacked you..." He whispered, looking off to the side.

The monster sighed, something felt wrong with this. The way that he fought, it was jerky and uncoordinated. That meant Chara was trying to take over, but that also meant that he was fighting her... Yet, even in that, there was something wrong with it. This monster just seemed startled, confused and in total fear as he continued to try and dust the other... Something definitely was wrong.

"Don't worry about it. It's fine... You didn't know who I was." The being of fear told, trying to make sure that his words didn't trigger Chara... Which would be bad...

The white skeleton nodded, still shaking as he hugged himself.

"Why are you shaking? Did I scare you that bad?" Nightmare was starting to become genulinly concerned for the smaller. Cross never showed any weakness like fear before...

"N-No... It's just c-cold here..." The skeleton muttered, looking away in shame.

The monster nodded softly in understanding. In the blank void, he couldn't sense any form of heat, nor where the light was coming from, so he guessed to someone else, they'd be a bit cold.

"Do you want to go somewhere a bit warmer?" The gooey thing asked, showing his hand to the little one. He had to be gentle and slow with them.

Cross carefully reached his hand out, feeling anger building inside of him again.

"It's going to be okay..." He whispered to himself as he took the monster's hand. The feeling died a bit, but it still was there, almost ready to ATTACK at any moment...

The gooey skeleton pulled the other up, looking at them with worry. The white wearing skeleton took out the chocolate and took a couple more bites, then wrapped it up again.

Biting his lip, the monster made what seemed to be a portal out of the little bits of shadow. It swirled, turning darker and darker the closer it got to the middle, until it came to a point that you no longer could tell what color it was before, a true abyss really.

Sighing softly, Nightmare snapped his fingers, making the shadow portal wider. The darkness opened up to what seemed to be a living room.

The King of Nightmares looked at the other, who held his hand tighter. The waves of fear and worry filled the air, making the monster stronger, but this made him worry himself...

Mentally shaking it off, the two stepped through the portal.

Inside the living room were three other skeletons, all of them waiting patiently for their boss to come back. One had a hole in his head, another seemed to be crying black tears, and the third looked to be talking with some invisible person.

Cross felt more fear consume him as he notice the six different eyes on him, making him cower behind the taller, more intimidating monster.

"Cross!" The one crying black tears shouted, relief in their voice. "Where have you been, you were starting to scare me!" The monster tried to take a step forward, but the other monster whimpered softly.

Even though the whimper was soft, it still was loud enough for them all to hear and cringe at... It sounded so unlike their friend... The person who would've rolled his eyes and said something innocent, not whimper...

"Killer, please sit down." Nightmare made sure his voice was unnaturally soft, he had to make sure that the white wearing monster didn't freak out, he didn't need Chara to get active again.

Killer held a confused look, but followed his boss's order.

"Cross, this is Horror," The gooey monster pointed to the one with the hole in his head and the single red eye. "Dust," The one with the hood up and was talking to nothing but air. "and Killer." The one who had jumped up.

The white wearing monster nodded to them, still cowering behind the taller. He felt like they were bad people... Really bad people... People he should be weary of...

The four waited for the "new" member to say something, but nothing came out of his mouth. He didn't even try to speak!

"Cross, is everything alright?" Killer asked, worry in their voice.

"Y-Yes..." Cross mumbled, clinging to Nightmare as if he the others were going to rip him away from the other.

The other three winced at the sound of his voice... Soft, meek, lack of life and so dull... So scared and filled with helplessness... This wasn't the Cross they knew...

"Well... Let's get you familiar with the castle." Killer called out, his smile forced and weak. He was trying to look friendly, to not be so frightening.

Cross nodded slowly, the anger in him burning lightly. Where was this anger even coming from? And how did those three other skeleton's know who he was?
