Cross happily cuddled into the giant skeleton's lap, who was half passed out from doing two all-nighters to make sure that he had everything he needed.
You see, about a week prior, Dream had requested a meeting with the Dark Sanses. He said that it was time for peace since the age old war has been dragging on- even the King of Terror wanted to end it! So, he agreed, saying they should use his conference room since it would be much easier to talk and converse.
So, that's where he was right now, but almost dead with tiredness... He might've waited until the last minute to get everything actually set up, which would explain why he had to pull two all nighters.
"Nighty?" The innocent child whispered, his eyes zooming instantly to the newcomers, that stood at the door in silence. "P-People ar-are here..."
Nightmare grumbled a soft 'Sshh, go back to sleep' as he pulled his little snowflake close to him. He honestly was way too tired to even know what the smaller skeleton had even uttered.
"Brother? Cross?" A very bright skeleton called out, carefully walking forward.
Dream knew better than to tempt a sleeping lion, much like his brother, when they were with their mate, like Cross.
Nightmare barely even stirred, his breathing still calm and soft as his arms held the younger skeleton close to him.
"Jesus! Did Nightmare get weak or something?" Possessed hissed, taking a bold step forward and almost instantly getting impaled by a flying tentacle.
When Possessed had taken that step forward, the small skeleton gave out a soft whimper of fear, pressing himself into his protector more. Which then entailed a natural instinct to strike whatever was making Cross scared from the large brute holding him.
"You better be thankful that I recognized you." The true Dark Sans grumbled, glaring down at his comrade as he pulled his tentacle back.
The flower-wrapped skeleton gulped as the flower lowered itself in a bit of fright. Yes, even though the King is known as an asshole, he had never, and I mean ever!, acted like that!
Once everyone was seated, the single eye of the large octopus zoomed around the room with unwavering concern and worry. Concern and worry for what, no one had a clue... Well, until Killer and the other two came in.
"Cross, do you want to go and make something sweet for all of us to eat, with Killer? This meeting could drag on for a bit."
The way that the dark being was speaking to his once annoyance had everyone wide eyed! He was talking to the red eyed skeleton like he was a child! Like he was an innocent child that needed help with understanding!
"Okay!" The smaller monster chirped happily, teleporting over to the waiting skeleton's side. "Do you want me to make your favorites, Nighty?" Cross's voice was a bit higher pitch, yet softer and kinder, more innocent and happier.
All the giant brute did was quietly smile that smile only proud parents give with a gentle nod.
Even though no verbal answer was given, the nod seemed to have completely brighten up the white wearing skeleton's mood, sending waves of joy and excitement throughout the whole room!
"Okay!"
Then the two left, Cross smiling like a goofus, making quick conversation on what they should make.
"U-Um..." The Creator looked towards his once enemy-now lover, confusion deep in both of their eyes. "W-What just h-happened?"
As if changed by a flip of a switch, Nightmare glared murderously at the colorful monster.
"Nothing that concerns any of you. Shouldn't we get down to business of why we're here, before I decided that I rather just kill you all right here and now."
Everyone(but Dust and Horror, for obvious reasons) gulped in fear of what the Nightmare King would do... What he was willing to do if they didn't do so.
"Y-Yes, right..." The golden guardian stuttered, fear lightly taking root in his body.
He had never seen his brother like this... Not once in their entire lives! Not once in their existence! Specially towards Cross of all monsters!
The large brute nodded bordly as he relaxed in his large chair. As long as those other Sanses know not to hurt Cross, he didn't really care about anything else... Not until the smaller remembered why Chara had attacked him when the first met... Not until then and only then...
