Phoenix Fire (Book 2/6 of the Phoenix of Konoha series)

Two Days Later

~Sasuke's P.O.V~

I sat by Emi's bedside waiting for her to wake up. She's been asleep for two days, and I was getting a little worried. I knew that she didn't have any extensive damage done to her, but that didn't stop me from worrying. I pressed a wet wash rag to her forehead, and sigh. "Come on, Emi." I say. 

I hear a knock on the door, and answer it. It was Gaara. "What do you want?" I ask coldly, my voice dripping with venom. "To see my sister." he states simply. "She's still sleeping." I say. "I figured." He replies. "Let me pass." He started getting that dark aura. The same aura that Emi had while in that state. "What was that?" I ask. "Two days ago? She....she wasn't human..." I trail off. "That...thing was....a monster." Gaara says darkly. "A demon. in a fit of rage, it took control of her. that thing wasn't human." "Tailed Beast?" I ask. "Like....Naruto?" "Yes." He states solemnly. "My- Our father split the raw power in half, sealing it into two unborn twins. Myself, and Emi. In result of that, we had a premature birth, killing our mother. We were most likely not to survive. But, you can see what it turned into." Gaara explained, his seafoam eyes shining with sadness. As if he was only starting to remember all the times him and Emi had together as young young children. 

"Then when we were eight years old, our father abandons her in the woods just because she was weak." Gaara's eyes harden, filling them with hate. "He leaves her. Alone, and scared until one day she stumbles apon the gates to your village." the hate quickly disappears, replaced with the same sadness as before. He looks at me. "She loves you....I don't understand why, but she does." I look back at her. I move her hair away from her face, and pick up the now warm rag, and cool it down. I place it back on her forehead. "She talks about you," I say, "In her sleep. She keeps saying your name." "Gaa...ra...brother..." Emi says Suddenly. I look over to see her still asleep. "She did always talk in her sleep." he replies. "I will leave you now." Gaara says. "Until we meet again, Sasuke Uchiha." he disappears using his sand. My eyes narrow a bit. Its very clear that he loves and cares about Emi.

"Sasu...ke." Emi says weakly. She was awake. "Hey, you're finally awake." I say. She nods weakly. "How are you feeling?" I ask. "Like a huge tree fell on me, but worse." she replies. "It hurts, Sasuke. I can't move a muscle because the over whelming pain." she looks around. "I'm not in the hospital?" I shake my head. I hear nother knock at the door, and leave the room to go answer it. The rest of team 7 was there. Well Naruto and...Sakura anyway. "What do you want?" I ask. "To see Emi of course." Naruto says. "Where is she?" "She's stillI in the recovery stage." I reply. "So the monster isn't dead." Sakura says dissapointed. "Emi isn't a monster." I say. "it attacked me! What ever that thing was, it wasn't human. Sasuke you're in love with a monster!" Sakura says. "So am I a monster too then?" Naruto asks her. "Just because Emi, Gaara, and I have Tailed-Beasts does not mean we're MONSTERS!" "whatever, Naruto." Sakura says. "I'm leaving." she dissapears. "When Emi wakes up, Can you...tell me?" Naruto asks. "I didn't say she was sleeping, dobe." I say. "Come on." i walk back into Emi's room with Naruto behind me. 

"Emi," he says. "I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am for treating you like I have been." Naruto says. "If I had known sooner that you had the One-Tails I....I would be protected you more.....I'm extremely sorry and..." "Naruto," She says. "Its alright...I honestly forgot I was a Jinchuriki." "Jinn what now?" Naruto asks. "Jinchuriki. That's the proper name for us who have Tailed-Beasts." Emi explained. "I'm only Half though. I will only be whole when me and Gaara are fighting side by side, since he has the other half of Shukaku."

A/N: Sorry I didn't update right away. Emi has remembered most of her past. I will probebly make a side chapter about Emi's dreams while she was sleeping. Maybe I'll do that today. Who knows. Shout out to Kurushimi Akuma for helping with the chapter. Comment what should happen next.
