Phoenix Fire (Book 2/6 of the Phoenix of Konoha series)

The Fight Between Siblings Part 2

~Emi's P.O.V~

I dodge the sand that's snaking towards me at a high speed. "Phoenix Flower Jutsu!" I say. The sand protects him from harm, and flies towards me once again. I was to slow, and the sand wrapped around my leg.

I grunt as I try to pull my leg free, but it doesn't work and the sand crawls up my leg until it was covering my waist.

At that moment I felt like a helpless animal trapped in a sandy death trap, and the only way out was to use my Jutsu. I used a large fireball and there was a huge explosion.

I cried out in pain as the fire burned my body. As the smoke cleared, I stood there with a large burns on my body. It hurt to move, but I didn't let that stop me. I ran at him with a Kunai in my hand swiping at his torso. The sand protects him of course, so I couldn't hurt him.

I tried again and fail. The sand wraps around my arm and I try to break free. When I finally manage to, I run back to the middle of the arena and stand my ground. The sand continues coming at me. I run and slash at his chest.

The Sand once again blocked my attack, and came at me again.

"Wind Style Wind Scythe!" I yell, swinging the fan I had gotten from Temari. The sand is blown away, and Gaara is left open. "Fire Ball Jutsu!" I call. The giant ball of fire flies towards Gaara and explodes around him.

The smoke clears and he is left standing there unscathed, sand all around him. My eyes widen in shock.

"Phoenix Fire Ball Jutsu!" I yell and a Bird-shaped fire flies at him. Again, the area around him explodes, but he is left unscathed because of his sand.

Annoyed now, I run at him and stick exploding notes on him, then for good measure, I jump and throw Kunai with exploding notes.

As explosions go off in rapid succession waves and the field fills with smoke, I smirk, thinking I finally broke through and dealt a major blow.

My smirk disappears however as I see his outline in the smoke. A stream of sand then shoots from the smokes.

I jump back as the sand flies towards me but it pursues me and wraps around my leg.

"Sand Coffin." was all Gaara said before excruciating pain bursts from my leg. I cry out as the sand crushes my leg. I feel myself rushing towards the ground, and pain blossoms from my head, leaving me to see black spots. I try to stand, but my leg crumpled under my weight, and my head spins. I hear "EMI!" and "Gaara wins!" before welcoming the darkness threating to take me.
