(ELANOR'S POV)

I woke up just as the sun began to filter through my window.  I live alone in this small hut, I have ever since I outgrew my nanny that took care of me after my mom dropped me off here.

Every morning I get up with the sun, get dressed, and go grab a bit of bread from the pantry then begin work.  But today was different.  I jumped out of bed and climbed the ladder I made that led to the roof.  When I unlocked the latch and pushed open the roof hatch, I saw a still asleep Whisper.

A wide smile spread across my face.  She didn't leave after all!  I descended back down the ladder and ran to my tiny kitchen.  I looked all over but couldn't find any fish.  I went outside, I knew my neighbor kept some in a barrel right next to their front door.  I slipped over to the barrel and quietly opened the lid.  I grabbed as much fish as I could and ran back towards my own hut.
"Hehe...  Missed me again, snob!"  I whispered under my breath.

I often took their fish.  Sometimes cause I needed it but sometimes I did it just to get under his skin.  His name was Aslaug.  But, I call him, Ass-laug.  He was the most stuck up, snob, bully I ever met!  He acted like a high-tier, when really he was part of a low-tier family.  He was about a year older then me and he lived with his father.

I took the fish right back up to the roof and laid them by Whisper.  I stepped back and just watched her.  A couple minutes later I heard someone cursing my name.  I looked over at Ass-laug's house and saw him looking inside his fish barrel.  I laughed to myself and listened to him.

"That brat!  She did it again!  When my father and the chief hear about this I'll have her kicked out of her hut for thievery!"  He then ran back inside his hut and slammed the door behind him.

Yeah, right!  He's told the chief about me a million times.  I never get in serious trouble because the chief doesn't like too hear about such petty things.  And he doesn't think of low-tiers, such as myself and  Ass-laug, are worth listening to.  He honestly just thinks I'm a waste of space.  Most people here do. You could say I get in trouble a lot.  But, I'll be leaving soon so I won't have to worry about them no more.  That reminds me...

I glanced once more at Whisper then ran back down the ladder and out the door.  I ran all the way up the hill that lead to the chief's house.  That was where everyone was sleeping.  I've only been in his hut once before, When I first arrived at the island.  I don't really remember it.  It's big, really big.  He thinks pretty highly of himself, but I got used to it.  Most of the village is full of snobs.

I finally reached his hut.  I knocked on his door, out of breath.  He opened the door in a fancy wolf fur rube.

"May I speak to the riders?"  I asked.

He looked at my dirty clothes and shook his head.

"No.  You can wait for them when they awake.  For now, go back to your part of town.  A low-tier such as yourself should not be allowed near these huts."  He shooed me away then slammed the door.

I didn't really expect to be allowed in his hut, but I felt a bit hurt anyway.  Technically I'm a rider as well.  Shouldn't I be just as respected as a high-tier!?  I mean, Hiccup and everyone else gets the privilege to sleep in his giant hut!  Ugh, I'm so tired of being a low-tier.  I can't wait to be rid of this place!

I walked back to my hut with my head held low.

When I was in the mid-tier section of town, I heard someone call out, "You there!  Girl!  You were supposed to clean my windows already!"

     Not this guy again!

"I don't have time today.  I'm leaving with the Dragon Riders soon."  I said.

     He burst out laughing.

"Did the chief finally sell you away as a slave?"  He smirked.

Mid-tiers always threatened low-tiers into do their chores.  They would also make fun of us whenever they got the chance.

"Actually I'm going as a Dragon Rider!"  I said, raising my head.  I glared at him.

"Don't you dare talk to me like that!  Your filthy mouth should be washed with soap for speaking such lies.  No one would ever want a peasant like you!"  He hissed as he took a threatening step towards me.

I felt scared but didn't back down.  I'm a Dragon Rider now!  He has no reason to speak of me that way.

"Your just making up excuses for not doing what your told!  Now go clean my windows or I'll make you!"  He walked towards me.

I-I won't run this time!  I told myself.

He was now only a few feet from me. He suddenly grabbed my arm and tried to pull me towards his hut.

     "Help!"  I yelped in alarm.

"Please, no one will come to help you.  Your just a low-tier."  He said as I struggled away from his grasp.

He's right, I'm just a low-tier.  No one will help me here.

I tried to kick him off, it was my first instinct.  I wasn't even thinking about what the chief would do to me when he hears that I kicked a mid-tier.  He wouldn't believe me if I said that he was trying to force me to clean his house.  Or he might believe me but just not care.  Either way, this won't end well for me.  I kept trying to kick him but never actually hit him.

Suddenly a blast shot close to the man.  I looked over to see Whisper approaching the man, growling with her teeth out.  I let out a sigh of relief.  Whisper ran at the man, roaring.  He let go of my arm and leaped away.  He tried to run away but Whisper reached him quickly and forced him to the ground.   He was terrified but Whisper didn't let him run away.  She roared loudly at his face, only then did she let him go.  He ran back into his hut and locked the door behind him.  Many mid-tiers were looking through their windows at all the commotion.

I looked at Whisper and gave her a hug around the neck.

"Thank you so much!"  I said.

I was shaking with fear.  She growled comfortingly at me.  She then broke away from my hug and crouched down.  I smiled and hopped on her back, the saddle still on.  She walked me the rest of the way back to my house.  People peering out of their windows in awe of me.  I kept my head held high and proud, so did Whisper.  We soon reached my house, but instead of going inside Whisper flew upward.  She took me on a long flight before we flew back down to meet Hiccup and Toothless.
